Is this something that could come back to bite me in the butt?

Um... well I did something that might've been something really stupid. Well, one day I was feeling all stupid and I emailed MIT to ask whether I should drop band and take an AP class. And guess what they replied saying basically that it doesn't matter, and tat it is my choice. Now I feel sort of stupid for asking MIT a question that might make it seem that I do stuff just to get into MIT (my dream school). AAAAAAAHHHHHHH did I jusy commit a critical mistake, or will they forget me, or is this actually a good thing showing that I already care about admissions (since I am only a current freshman)? AHHHH lol wow I feel stupid. Please give me some input.

Lol I doubt it matters since you won't be applying for another three years. Mostly likely they won't even remember who you are.

Haha yeah no there's no way they'll remember who you are. I'm surprised they actually answered :]

lol yeah i was shocked when they actually answered. At first I was happy and then I was like... crap why did I do that? lol

Don't start worrying about college yet. Do what you love to do and college will work itself out.

I went to an info session for MIT and their admissions counselor said that they get that question all the time. So there is absolutely no way on Earth they will remember that you asked them that question. Plus, why would they even care?

no offense but you probably wont get into MIT anyway, so dont worry

They know where you live now, soon they'll be showing up on your doorstep asking to be forgiven.

you're only a freshman.... relax, they probably gets millions of emails asking about this stuff....

i doubt they'll remember, keep records, or even care. Though, if you're nervous, just get a new e-mail address specifically for colleges.

Goosfraba goooooooosfraba [c/o Anger Management]

I doubt they keep track of emails (it seems like a lot of work)...but it's a legitimate question. Plus, they're not going to trace your email, so I would just change it when applying if you were really worried about it.

Don't drop band! Band is amazing! You have time, believe me. It I am taking 2 AP classes next year, 2 AP classes as a senior, and am still managing to take band for a total of 6 years, I think you'll be fine (they only offer 4 AP classes at my school). (I am taking 6 years of band by taking the upper level all year as a freshman, the upper level all year as a sophmore, and half year of the lower level, same thing as a junior, then as a senior i am tking a full year of both.)

Good luck with MIT :-)

they won't give a crap they have bigger problems to deal with (scandal).

"they won't give a crap they have bigger problems to deal with"

he speaks with knowledge

Wow... No comment.

really don't worry about it.

They would probably think that it's a positive thing that you're expressing interest in the school at this early stage. Don't worry about it at all.

Don't stress.
Not only are you only a freshman (not in a condescending way or anything), but you might not even WANT to go to MIT in a few years. Just be chill.
