As a freshmen, I'm not taking any APs and I really don't want to over stress myself. However, I want to have the most challenging schedule possible for college. DO you think this schedule is overboard?
PIB Chemistry 1
PIB French 3
AP English Language
AP Statistics
IB Computer Studies 1
AP Calculus AB
AP US govt/VPS
AP Art History (online)

The AP English, AP govt, PIB Chem 1, and a foreign language (in this case PIB French 3) are required for all sophomores to take. I'm taking Calculus 1 at a local CC so that AP Calc won't be so difficult for me during the year. The only class I'm really scared about is AP stats because our teacher is horrible but grades extremely hard!! AP stats and IB computer studies are my "electives".
I am expecting a social life and hopefully As. My question is do you think this will be overwhelming??? I was greatly considering dropping AP stats for an easy honors elective. This would be my only year to be able to take AP stats and I'm constantly hearing how it's such an useful class. Advice?

There is no schedule too challenging to an AO. Then again, time management and organization are very important, so stay on top of things and you will make it alive.

Thanks anymore advice? I think I'm pretty good at time mangement. I won't really do anything until i finish my hw (including studying). Anymore advice?

Hey, the sooner you get used to tough classes, the better. Just manage your time wisely, and you should be fine. It will probably be a bit of a shock at first since freshman classes are pretty much the easiest things out there, but you should turn out fine.

Well, definitely evaluate yourself. Don't measure yourself up to CC (Is 790 okay?! Should I retake?!?!?! Do I need 16 APs?!)...measure up to your best. I would probably drop art history. You most likely will want to relax and avoid burning out then to spend another 30 mins online each night. Anyway, good luck!

I would advise against AP English Language. Reading, writing, and analyzing skills improve whether or not you are in the classroom. I think you need an extra year of preparation before AP or IB English.

haha i had three honors classes my sophomore year, and that was it.

that looks pretty hard to me. Calc AB is a lot of work, but it isnt hard. Stats from what i heard is easy. 2 math classes at the same time... why you would do that is beyond me :)

good luck! i'm advising you to drop all the APs you dont need because if your grades plummet, it won't help your apps. at ALL.

Well AP English lang is required for all IB sophomores. We got English 1 PIB, AP English lang, AP English Lit/IB English 3, IB English 4. Personally, I don't feel prepared to take AP English but w/e. Ya i heard AP Calc AB is really easy also so I'm not real nervous. It looks like I'm getting mixed responses here so it's kinda hard to tell which way I should go. I'm probably going to try it and if it gets too bad, I'll drop either AP stats or IB comp studies (my "electives")

In my school AP english only allowed for juniors not in the IB program. Basically everyone not in the IB program takes the same Engish class but the kids who have an A average by the middle of winter take the AP and get AP credit for the course. Though they have to do three more essays than the regular kids...

Anyway there were kids in my school who had more hectic schedules and survived. I don't know how happy they were, but they survived.

Also why take IB Comp Sci before AP? AP covers less stuff. So it makes sense to do AP then IB.
