I heard that most applicants who get accepted early have good stats while those who get a notification late even though they submitted their application early will most likely be denied. is this true?

^
Yes and no. I mean there will be many students who applied by priority date to get rejected by Feb. though there will also be some who get accepted by Feb ( as some already have). I doubt everyone that has applied by priority date and haven’t heard back yet will be rejceted, if that was true then why not just release the decisions today… though I do think its likely that the majority of applications who have applied by Dec 15 and haven’t heard back yet will be rejected ( since the school’s acceptance rate is around 50%).

Well the reason why they might not release decisions for those already rejected might be simply because there’s no reason to. It is reasonable to say that the college cares about the students accepted and would send them a notification as soon as possible but doesn’t care about those who are denied so why release their decisions so soon. Also, for those who were accepted and chose not to attend, it would be easier and more convenient to change the decision of those formerly rejected to accepted by the notification deadline

what about International applicants? Does this likely-to-be rule apply to us too?
I’m from China, my tracker says that my application is being very carefully considered blah blah, is this good news or bad news?

^ It might be either good (if accepted) or bad (if rejected). But good news is you will know the result in a week from now.
