Hi! I am an aerospace engineering student at Purdue University. I just completed my freshman year. I am planning to transfer to MIT for my junior year. Is it a good decision?

Sure, if you think you’ll be among the 5.5% admitted as a transfer. <a href=“MIT Institutional Research”>MIT Institutional Research; Note that they’ll need all your HS info too.

why leave Purdue? You’re an aeroE, Purdue is excellent for that.

I see that you’re an intl and need aid. does MIT meet need for intl transfers? is it need-aware.

I don’t see the point of transferring, unless MIT is bribing you to enroll with a full ride or with some special project that you can only perform at MIT, which is unlikely.

Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. I will rethink over my decision. Actually, I am not very much liking Purdue University. And, if we consider the ranking, MIT is better than Purdue. So, I was thinking about transferring. @LakeWashington mom2collegekids Erin’s dad - Please let me know if you any more suggestions for me.

Are you in-state for Purdue? What can your family afford for college each year?

I am an international student at Purdue. I am able to afford the Purdue fees and other expenses each year. But, having a scholarship or financial aid will always be helpful for me.

If you get in and can afford it, it is a very good idea – especially since you don’t’ seem to like Purdue all that much.
