Okay, so here are my musts for any school:
- Good weather
- Not too small (more than 1,000)
- Prestigious academics
- Diverse
- Not too much of a drug scene

But I'm a sophomore, and my grades aren't the best. I'm hoping by the end of my high school career, I'll have a 3.7-3.8 GPA average.

What's UMiami like? Is it considered a good school? B/c I want to go to a school that people would recognize.

Go to the Colleges forum on the left and select U of M under the "M’"s section.

Although I’m sure it depends on the major, sons largest class was 60 kids, smallest about 17 or so. Mostly 20 in each class. (and this is based on double major and a minor.)

UM accepts many top students with the highest stats. These kids get close to full, or full scholarships and end up attending this great school. Son graduated last spring. No regrets.

UM is a great school. Ranked 38 nationwide (USNWR). The programs are excellent. Lot’s of major research going on. Beautiful campus. Dorms are so-so, but no one cares about that.

Party school? Only if you want to party. Son and friends did little partying- more once in frats. Lots of restaurants and things to do locally, day and night. Lots of places to party, if you are interested as it is not too far from areas with lots of clubs, bars, but not very close either.

Frats, sororities provide a great social life if you are interested.
