I had my orientation 2 weeks ago, and in that time I've decided that maybe Computer Science isnt for me and I want to test the waters in other fields. Along with my parents, I decided to get out of my CS FIG and drop one of my two CS classes. I picked up (or at least wanted to pick up) RTF 305 as a way to move my classes away from all science/math to something that I would enjoy more.

Anyways, I did everything around 8 this morning, aside from add the RTF class because every one said "CLOSED" next to it. I assumed that they would open up at 11 UT time for all of the kids at orientation, so I waited. But the classes never did open up. Now I've only got 4 classes and have to add this RTF class. What can I do? Do I just wait it out until add/drops start happening and hope I get in? I don't think my advisor would be of much help because this is in a whole other school, one that I am thinking of transferring to.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try emailing the rtf undergraduate advisor

You could tell him that you think you would like to be come an RTF major (that is usually a helpful thing to say) and “would like to wait list for RTF 305, would that be possible?” Notice that the lecture part of this class is all one big class on MW so while it looks like a lot of classes, it is sort of one big class with separate discussion sections.

Maybe the class is only open to people accepted to rtf. You will find out.
