I am very interested in Ithaca College amd I have a few questions. What’s life like at IC? Are they ere a lot of diversity like LGBT people or people of other ethnicities? And are the students of IC accepting and nice?
I’m from New York and Ithaca is currently my top choice school. I have a friend there and have been to their all-day open house as well, so I do have some insight into the school aside from what I’ve learned online. What I’ve heard and experienced is that it’s an incredibly laid-back, accepting environment where everyone just sort of gets along. There’s no competition going on and people are openly friendly and outgoing. Cultural/racial diversity isn’t necessarily its redeeming feature but LGBT diversity might be. I’m LGBT myself and finding a school where that is accepted and celebrated is a HUGE deal for me. I have found that Ithaca is like a haven for queer people. My friend who’s a sophomore there is also queer and he LOVES Ithaca. He said he’s in a whole new world of diversity and acceptence.
As for what life is like at Ithaca, there is always something going on. Most of the students there and at its neighboring school Cornell are full time residents, which means there are tons of ways to get involved. Parties at Ithaca aren’t overwhelming and you don’t have to party to have fun; but if you want to, then you’ll have a blast too. Ithaca as a town is constantly ranked the #1 college town in America and I definitely understood why when I was visiting. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about Ithaca. Hope I could help, and maybe I’ll see you there next year
Yes omg thank you so much rhiannaps !! This helped a lot!! See you next year
