for the application, it gives a list of major areas of study you plan to pursue if accepted at JHU. well.. i'm pretty positive i want to become a surgeon, but unsure whether heart, brain, etc. what category does broad surgeon fall under? Public Health Studies? Biology?

There is no major for "pre-med"

So, you just have to find a major that you like which works with the pre-med requirements at JHU. It can be Biology, Math, or even Art History (yes, I know an art history pre-med).

So really, pick a major that interests you right now--and these interests will change over time as you start taking classes also, I bet.

Honestly, with a curriculum as open as JHU's, no major will present a big problem for completing all the pre-med classes. I know an OBGYN who majored in pottery. Just do what you're interested in.

okay thanks!

the glory of pre-med -- being able to pretty much major in anything that you want as long as the basic mcat req. are met (i'm thinking about surgery too.. i guess i'll figure out which type soon enough)

^^Well... glory of pre-law is there to... ive seen people major in Sciences, enter law... :P
