It's time

EA applicants will be having their interviews in the following three weeks and I thought it would be a good idea to gather as much questions that we (EA applicants) will be asked. And to CC Harvard interviewers: What kind of questions do you ask? What in partucular do you look for from an applicant?

I'll start with "must" question:
WHY HARVARD? sigh

THanks ppl

The question has been asked many times before, and you can find the answers in the archives. "Harvard Schmarvard," by Harvard alum (and 20-year alumni interviewer) Jay Mathews also provides a good description of Harvard interviews.

Interviews not necesarilly in the next three weeks but also after! That is what they said in their office because AFTER They get your application they send info to get interviewed!! I think...please correct me if I am wrong!

My experience as an alum interviewer is that most EA interviews are in Nov. through the first week in Dec. It takes time for Harvard to send the EA applicant info to the head of the local alumni's schools committee. It takes time for the committee head to get interviewers lined up. It takes time for the interviewers to call the students.

Harvard doesn't send the info to the heads of the schools committee until the EA applications are complete. That way, busy alum don't rush to interview a student only to have the student change their app to regular decision because of, for instance, not getting their SATs done in time.

Harvard also mail names of applicants to the schools committee in batches. Don't assume that the moment that your app is complete, Harvard calls the schools committee chair. That would be an overwhelming amount of work for everyone to respond like that.

How could people be having interviews already? I'm not even sending my EA application until around Oct. 25.
