Has anyone who petitioned back in late October early November who was still waiting (as of mid January) heard lately?
I know this isn’t quite what you asked, apologies, but we petitioned back in November and still haven’t heard.
waiting since Early Oct.
Waiting since early Oct
No this is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks.
Frustrating that is taking this long.
With only 2 weekends for Direct Admit Days (and one of them completely full already), many who get in will not be able to attend these DA days with a April 14th notification. The last DA day is April 1st weekend and you have to sign up in advance, hotels, plane fares, etc.
Waiting since October
My son as well - October petition and still waiting.
Same. No response, Petitioned in Oct.
Has anyone contacted the Admissions office?
I did maybe a month or so. Every time I contact Kelley admissions, I get a response that feels a little salty. They’ll say things like, “AS OUR WEBSITE CLEARLY SAYS you will hear by April” (all caps added by me). But every email from them includes a “as our website already says” or “as we already said in our email.” So I’m not contacting them again! I get that they probably receive dozens if not hundreds of emails asking the same question, which is frustrating, but that’s the job of an admissions office.
It also says rolling.
Have not heard of any rolling since December.
So I called today because I have 2 students who petitioned to Kelley back in October. One heard first week of December and the other has not heard. Their stats are almost identical (one grade different in a class).
The one who heard did apply to Hutton and got in as well. The other did not apply to Hutton. (interesting fact when looking at how everything has rolled out for my two).
The one who got admitted, in at Hutton, invited to ACE Program, invited to a mentor program, able to sign up for DA day. The other nothing.
The person I talked to on the phone said that they are expecting to have decisions out before April 14th (and then added “hopefully” so to cover themselves). I asked about DA day and the answer was that DA day was designed for the DA and not petitioners and that they do not plan to have any other DA days other then the 2 already planned. I think that the DA Day for non petitioners is a thing of the past as it seems to be that there are more petitioners then non at this point (they had over 8000 petitioners this year I have heard).
Not sure what to take from this other then we will have answers hopefully before April 14th.
Thanks for your update. It’s helpful. I wish they had been more clear in their website wording - clarifying that decisions won’t be rolling, but rather everyone will know by April 14th. I guess some year has to be the first year for a big change like this, next year’s class will be better prepared.
IU is one of the two schools my son is considering for next year. I’ve told him to assume his Petition will not be granted when deciding between the two schools. What else can you do at this point?
Feel like finally the number of applicants is catching up to the reputation of the b-school. Since they have not changed the gpa and sat score required in the past years, maybe more students can meet the direct admit threshold leaving less slots for the petitioners. this is speculation of course.
8000? how many people are they going to accept?
which DA weekend is full? i saw someone mention it.
do you happen to know how many DA’s there were?
The first one in March is full.
I made a query email to kelley too,
But they were like u will hear everything before april14
It is really frustrating,
I m not able to focus on my studies properly.
