IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2023

I’m assuming very few people got acceptances from the petition.

Kid applied to kelley back at the start of October through the petition. Stats were 1360 and 3.7gpa uw. Award winning athlete, captain and 150+ volunteer hours coaching. Rejected March.

that is so unfortunate, sorry to hear that.

What do you guys think the probability of getting off the waitlist is? Since it seems like they accepted a very few people from the petition process and rejected and waitlisted a lot of people. considering that there were over 5k applicants. And also from the 2200-2300 class size for DA this year, how many are with that required GPA and Test-scores eligible for DA’s. Is there possibility that there are more DA’s than they call fill from the 2200-2300 class size?

over 5k petitioners

also the fact, that 20k people applied with Kelley interest in their application. Got all the info from emailing the business school.

20K people applied to Kelley this year???

they choose kelley as intrest, out of that 20k, 5k were petitioners, x amount of DA’s. rest wouldn’t be considered for DA if they didn’t petition or have the required stats for DA.

hey! how many of u have decided to get in through standard admit

Same result for my son. Trying to decide on whether standard admit is worth it.

I have not been able to speak with a live person in Kelley. Also, I sent an email 2 weeks ago to the person in Kelley we met with in the Fall and still no reply. Does anyone know if there is a cap for standard admission to Kelley? I would be concerned that with the large number of petitions there may be an issue with numbers next year.

Same. Got into Boulder Business program. Son wants a business program. Debating direct Boulder or “maybe” at Kelley.

My daughter has visited Boulder and Kelley this past year. She was granted DA to both. She has chosen Kelley for herself. But I can share this about Boulder - she loved the setting & campus. Great vibe. It could be a great place to go to business school. Obviously - she felt best about Kelley for herself – but I just wanted to put it out there that CU Boulder is also an exciting choice. Especially if you enjoy hiking/skiing in your free time.

Thank you! He really wanted Kelley. He’s not an outdoorsy guy. Likes to work on developing his business from laptop inside. Lol. But Boulder is a great second choice.

Thanks. You can’t win them all. Luckily he has other choices. Just wanted to share for those reading this thread next year :slightly_smiling_face:

Going in with a “maybe” at Kelley seems tough - check out some student posts on Reddit. Although I think they have removed two challenging math classes from the pre-reqs for applying for Kelley admission which would help. My son also was denied direct admit so we have passed on Kelley. Not his first choice anyway so not a tough decision.

Yolo, My D27 daughter and I recently attended a local IU Scholarship brunch for incoming freshman. Approx. 65% of the 31 students in attendance were Kelley DAs. My daughter is on the waitlist at Kelley. We spoke with an admission director at the event who said 50 students remain on the waitlist from the 5,000 who petitioned. She said there will NOT be another waive of decisions coming before April 26th. She said after the Ivy school decisions come out 4/1/23 and students decline Kelley as a result, they will assess their numbers and make a decision on the remaining 50 waitlisted students. I don’t know if this info helps you, but this is what we were told. Best of luck to you!

To me that sounds promising or at least the odds sound good compared typical waitlists for colleges.

I’ll take that as my son is one of those 50.
