Wishing you luck. My son was told he was on the waitlist a few weeks ago. Hoping we’re still on it as well.
Same question - I searched Reddit and couldn’t find anything.
Just type into Google something like “How hard is it to get into Kelley non direct admit Reddit” and that should provide several links. I think it is easier now that they pulled out the 2 math requirements from admission. I had read that Finite Math was nearly impossible, kids taking it multiple times just to pass so getting a B to gain admission was rough. But again, I believe that class has been removed from the hurdle for admission to the major. Take a look at which classes are still required and then you can also Google search those classes with Reddit in the search string to read student feedback on the level of difficulty. Good luck!
See my response below
only 50 students?
out of the 5k applicants only 50 people got waitlisted? That doesn’t seem true at all.
No. I’m saying out of 5,000 petitions, everyone except 50 petitioned applicants have heard a response - yes or no. The remaining 50 are currently waitlisted. 4,950 have received an answer.
are these stats 100% confirmed?
why would they just keep the 50 waitlisted?
Ok! My son is me of those 50 too. He had high stats, but applied after November 1. OOS. Direct admit to Fisher, waiting on Michigan. This gives us hope!
Thanks so much for passing along what you heard. That was so nice of you. That number 50 is interesting, if not perplexing…We have at 4 (that I know for sure) on the wait list at our one little high school (well, it’s not little, but you know what I mean).
hey guys I was directly admitted to Kelley for the class of 2027. I was wondering if a Withdraw Pass and dropping a course second semester of my senior year could lead to admissions being Rescinded. This course was an extra AP Math class which was unnecessary for graduation. Please let me know!
I’m not sure 50 is accurate. I know of at least 5 for sure from my son’s school. I finally got in touch with a live person @ Kelley and they indicated that 40% of the applicants get accepted during standard admission after freshman year. However if you get a 3.0 you will be admitted.
An admissions dean at a local event actually said something a little different. It’s not a 3.0 but a minimum B in every class. So you can’t have some As and then a C and maintain a 3.0 as the C will kick you out. The nuance being not a 3.0, but nothing lower than a B in every class.
I don’t think anyone here can advise you properly on this. You should reach out to your academic counselor at your high school as well as to a Kelley admissions representative.
How did you get a live person?! I’ve been trying!
if this is accurate info then there is hope for my daughter too. She is deciding among Boulder, Madison and Cal Poly as of now. Yet to visit.
I kept calling and finally one day they answered. I also emailed previously - one over 2 weeks ago and still no reply. Crazy how tough it is to get someone live. Not like that at the other schools my son is considering. I have a daughter who is a senior in Kelley and she has a meeting with her advisor. I gave her a list of questions I forgot to ask:). And the standard admission to Kelley has been updated on the website so you can see the requirements for those applying as freshmen……
Thanks! Recent update do you know?
