I’m gonna be straight up honest. My son came to IU aiming for Kelley School, but his GPA shows that’s not going to happen. He has always been Finance and math oriented person, so he now wants to pursue a degree in Public Financial Management at O’Neill(SPEA) school with a minor in Financial Literacy from Kelley, hoping to secure a banking or finance industry job in the future.
Long story short, is SPEA degree and minor from Kelley going to help him get the job done? I heard majority of SPEA grads end up in private sector, even though they’re a Public Affairs school.
Would it be better to just major in Econ+Math instead?
