I know it doesn't really pertain to the topic, but I am considering attending a German university or Hochschule. I can get my bachelor's degree in just three years; tutition is only 500 euro per semester; and I get to stay in Germany. I've lived here for two years now, and let me tell you, it's been the best experience in my life. I have lived most of my life in Europe, and some of my younger life in the United States. If I have the option of staying here, and if I can improve my German speaking skills, I will definitely consider attending a German public university. One I am looking now is the Universitaet Karlsruhe. It's in Baden-Wurttemberg in southern Germany. I'd visit the country first, but if you can't, it's a great place.

Hum.. anguloalexis.. a 96 in University is really good.. do you know why you are doing so much better? Did your grades drop because of your visit in Poland. The admissions officers will look at all of these things. As far as tests I think they are only really important if you need scholarships.
All of your activities will help.. I think they like to see someone who is grounded but also interested in the world around them because in my application my essay was about the need for international democracy and my "something that interests you" was a bible verse about David's second wife. I haven't spoken directly to any Mexicans at IUB but in their viewbook they have someone from Guatemala and I think there are Mexican perspectives on their website... but actually the less that apply from Mexico the better your chances. I think the only reasons you might have a hard time is because you are applying so late but you definately have a shot.

fevoldj2 - thanks so much for your input... I wish I could visit but I am almost positive that I am going to adore it! Thanks again!

Wenn du Fragen ueber Deutschland hat, denn kannst du hier fragen.
If you have any questions about Germany, you can ask here.

I'll have to look into IUB Bremen, but I think I'd rather stay in the South. I'm used to the South by now, and it would be nice to go to college in a familiar environment. I just need to work on that German!

Actually my German tutor/soccer coach (he is native German) was quite upset that I wasn't going to school in the south because there is so much more art and interesting things to see.. plus if the tutition is only 500 euro a semester is 1/15 the price. I would love to go to University that cheap but I only know about 10 words in German so I don't think that will work too well...

Ok.. I am not letting this thread die!

Now JUB...

I'm thinking about applying here, just to leave my options open, but I really like it here in the South.

Jacobs university is the preferred form instead of JUB.

when will rnd 2 decisions be out?

Around 20 of this months(I can't even remember which month is it)

I'm thinking about taking the train up to Bremen if I have time during spring break in April. If I go I'll give you a report here.

thanks(10 char)

I have a question to those that are already admitted at JUB!
If on my online application page at the IUB website for "Undergraduate Application Form 2007" the Satus is "Admitted - Full" and for "Undergraduate Financial Aid Application Fall 2007" the Status is "To be packaged", does this mean that I was admited for real?? What was written in your case?
Thanks.

When did you submit the online app?

This is for 2nd round

My status has changed from "Application Complete" to "Admitted - Full" too! i hope this is good news! although i wouldnt get my hopes very high because there are like 20 days till decision time

i guess 'admitted' here means application materials have been processed...

no! hhehe

It changed from "application complete" to "admitted" .. doesnt application complete mean processed? what did u status did u have, by the way?

*What status did u have?

Wish you luck... Aragon and waleed, Hopefully you have been admitted, but the admission announcement will come only after the Financial Aid package has been processed.
Congratulations!
