I was a rotary exchange student in Germany my 11th grade year
and my gpa is only a 3.0...was lower but i have had strait A's this year.

I really hope that i have a chance...

Idk... your ACT is a little low... your ECs are okay.. Where are you from? You have a chance but it is definately a reach.

yeah i thought it would be tough...i hope i make it! i am from Nebraska.

Spinoza..Einstien..Iraq..WAR.....................Where r we heading guys/gals??
Where is IUB?

"Spinoza..Einstien..Iraq..WAR.....................W here r we heading guys/gals??
Where is IUB?"
Are we not supposed to talk about world issues because we are going to Europe?

"You said that your father served there for 18 months. What was the reaction of local Iraqis there?"
It was mixed, the Iraqis that worked with the U.S. seemed were excited about democracy but even more excited at the prospect of making money off the U.S. and then there were those who were just glad for the vote and democracy and all the programs the U.S was bringing (my dad was in charge of reelectrifying the southern half of Baghdad), then there were those who wanted to kill all soldiers.. but from what he has told me there was not one uniform opinion from the Iraqis.
"Btw what do you mean by god here?"
Sorry I was still thinking of a Christian God, it is going to take a while to break that barrier for me because I have been taught such a narrow perspective. I think your opinions are really interesting though.. I will have to do some research on them.

Good luck btw cody! How did you hear about IUB?
To make you feel a little better though I have heard that for admission they don't take into account test scores as much as US schools..
Also don't slack on your essay because I think it is one of the main things that helped me out.
I also think they will really like that you moved because they are looking for "International perspectives" so you might have a chance after all!

thanks a lot i will need it. I tried pretty hard on my essay so i am hopeing that is the main thing that they look at.

i wrote one of my essays in german (not actually an essay, just a note) and now i'm wondering if its acceptable since the application was in english.

German essays are acceptable.. I think... I know that German recommendations are acceptable..:)

hey...has anyone submitted the enrollment deposit yet?...if yes, how did u do it?

Isn't it too early?

well..yeah..it is sort of early ...but then i might need to draft something by regular mail...and my country's mailing system is anything but reliable and quick....

We are going to send our soon... you have to wire it.. so we have to go to our bank and ask them to do an international transfer and there is a penalty but it is not as bad as if you were going to send through western union...
idk.. that is just what we are going to do!

so how do they tell you if your accepted or not...is it by mail or email or what?

both e/mail

but the email comes first...
So I got my fin aid packet.. I just can't wait to send in the deposit...

U mean u just subitted it, or did they give u fin aid?

No they emailed me with it.. no surprise with my scholarship I got absolutely no aid...
except the tuition waver which is kind of nice... I don't know if my family is going to use it or not...
So are you going to wait until you get there to get your visa... or are you going to get it in the states?

so! so many people is applying!! it seems to be HARD!! i have a question for u Ice_sickle007! i know u have learned a lot about IUB's admissions, im Mexican, im wondering first, have u heard about any mexican studyin a B.A. at IUB? secondly, im attending a university in Mexico, UNAM (the best spanish speaking university though) my average at high school was very bad, well i mean it was 80% but...i got a 96% at university (just 1 semester), what is so much different, what do u think about my opp. to get in? i was a rotary excange student in poland, vicepresident at my high school and i have been in so many quires and plays too, i have done a good application i think, im just missing the SAT and TOEFL... so what's ur opinion?
