I'm still in high school, but I've been thinking about going to an ivy school, and before you go on about, "Oh you just want to get into one of them because of the name," I'm going to stop you there.

I want to major in either business or law, and maybe take classes in psychology, history, or literature. And a lot of the ivy schools are known for these classes.

But what are the pros and cons of ivy league schools?

I know that one pro is that it's USUALLY easier to get a job, and MOST, not all of ivy league students end up having a more successful life.

And as for cons, it's extremely hard to get into, and it's much more tiring than other colleges from what I've heard. I still can't make up my mind...

Don’t think about this stuff until you actually get admitted into one.

As someone who was set on the Ivy League for my entire life, I can speak to the post above. It unfortunately didn’t work out for me but I’m still going to an amazing school with amazing academics. However, I do agree that the Ivies have a lot to offer. In the long run it’s all about finding your fit, and if that’s an Ivy, so be it. I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all to apply, because really, you never know. No matter where you go though I think it’s all about taking advantage of the opportunities you’re given.

Plus, there’s always graduate school…

If you get admitted into an Ivy League school, chances are you’ll end up going there if its financially possible.
