my parents want me to apply to an ivy league school like cornell, but I think its impossible for me to get in. I mean my unweighted is a 3.21 and a weighted is 3,66 and I have a 31 on act. Should I even waste my time filling out the application?
thanks!

do YOU want to apply? It sounds like you know that the first hurdle is grades and your GPA is low for an ivy. But grades/test scores are only part of the story. If you have other abilities that make you more competitive–outstanding ECs, athletic abilities, then you might consider this. All said, it comes down to what you want. Good luck as you go forward.

I would like to apply as an ivy league school would be great, but im unsure when it comes to credentials. As per EC’s I did cross country and track till junior year, and I have the usual volunteer hours, as I am working toward eagle.

With no intent to discourage or to offend, the GPA and ACT data you’ve provided suggests that admission to an Ivy – or to any other elite, most selective LAC or National Research University – is unlikely (as, I am sure, you well understand). With this said, there are MANY other – thousands – colleges and universities that will serve you EXTREMELY well, educationally, in your career, and really throughout life.

I was thinking if it was possible to go to a state school and then go to an ivy for graduate school?
is that a plan that is practical?

Certainly; not only is it practical, it may also be more affordable and more beneficial (normally, individuals’ careers are more closely associated with their graduate/professional school education, than with their undergraduate concentration). However, you clearly know that, in general, admission to Ivy (and peer) institutions’ postgraduate programs is extremely selective.
