Would anyone at the program be able to give a percent acceptance or admit rate for this year?

time to start my summer reading… anyone on the same boat? lol

Book hasn’t arrived yet. Someone willing to make notes and email them to me? :3

Book? There are four. As for the one by Prof. Amar, you may download the first chapter as an eBook and read it there.

Am I the only one who’s incredibly socially awkward and is terrified of going

terrified of going and not reading the massive anthology…seriously that thing is so chunky

Does anyone know if this reading seriously matters? I’ve read through a lot of the Norton Anthology, and I honestly took nothing away from it. Kind of worried I may not even finish or may finish poorly… Really hope it doesn’t destroy my experience at Ivy Scholars.

You are terrified of not graduating?

I feel like I’m getting very little out of the anthology entries as well… I read one, understand it, and then move onto the next entry and remember nothing from the first. I doubt this will cause any substantial negations once we are there, though. We were told to read, and read I shall.

anyone know if they’ll be extensively covering the reading that we did, or are they just for background info./reference?

Okay so I’m international and my books still have yet to arrive(I live in China…you wouldn’t believe how much is wrong with the mail here)

I did find an ebook version of the economics book, but for the law+politics ones, I’m lost. Anyone in a similar position? (i.e. don’t have/havent read the books)? Anyone know if we’ll be able to buy them in New Haven? Yale has to have them…

wats the dress code? is it polos? can you wear khaki shorts?

Seriously hope it’s the latter…

I have it on good authority that: Last year they did not extensively cover the reading in GS. Polos are a good choice as are nice shorts sometimes, but for some things you will want pants. Unless you are a true insomniac you won’t have time to do any of the pre-reading once the program starts, so get it done beforehand.

From what I hear from DD who is there now, it’s all pretty intense. Kids are up late doing the reading and writing assignments, even though lots of reading was done ahead of time.
Not sure it accurately reflects a typical ivy college course. Sounds a lot more intense.

To those wondering about admit rate, the director at APPLE this year stated that around 400 to 450 people applied. There are a 137 students enrolled in the program.

Hey guys anyone knows any similar summer program??

For the people who were deferred last year… should they contact the people to confirm their spot?

this year this have a new- brand name called global young scholars, sounds cool

is anyone planning on applying for the 2013 summer?
