Jack Kent Cooke 2017-2018 Undergrad Transfer

@chellesbells Thank you! As far as I know, they will send the notification email in early April this year. We will know the result soon.

Hello 2017 finalists!

Congratulations on making it to this point! I am a 2016 UG Transfer Scholar. I’m a double major in Women’s Studies and Sociology. Good luck to each and every one of you. It is truly a blessing to make it this far. Last year they told us that Ivy Leagues were asking for a list of their finalists. This mean you are all capable of the most rigorous of studies.

I know the anxiety you feel during this wait. I was notified on May 12.

Regardless of what happens from here, remember that each and every one of you are stellar scholars and capable of changing the world. Run after your dreams. Jump on, and enjoy the ride, wherever it takes you.

Jesus Christ May 12? That’s after the deadline for most colleges >.>

trynna figure out who @AlwysHope is.

this forum should rev up any moment with the nail biting. decision day is fast approaching.

to increase your standing, send the JKC foundation dank memes. they love dank memes. the receptionist has collected the dankest memes.

looking forward to welcoming all of you into our secret illuminati club. :frowning: if there are any folks in chicago, DM me if you want to meet up for coffee/embarrassing student stories. good luck, friends.

Did anybody receive any notification from JKC about what schools you have been accepted, fall 2016 grades, etc.? April is just days away! If yes, then show me the email message.

@DorylsSmart2016 I have not received that email yet. Did you receive the previous email which asked for your updated financial info?

@Panda100 Yes I have, and I completed it in like mid-Feb. Anybody else? It has been over a month. HASHTAG Fingers still crossed and freaking out :)>-

Hello everyone,

I’ve been looking on here since January and idk how I missed this forum. I received the semifinalist email back in December but I haven’t heard anything since. I had stopped stressing about it, but as time approaches, I’m starting to get nervous again.

A little about myself,

I’m a nontraditional student and a single mom. I have a full time job working as a bookkeeper and a part-time job (running my own business). I am VP of the local PTK chapter, member of the Pirates Leadership Society and I created my own non-profit for mothers/families going through the loss of a child. I have a 4.0 GPA and volunteer on my “free” time.

I am completing a dual major in Business Administration Management and Communication Studies with minors in Advertising,Finance, and Marketing. I hope to transfer to SDSU, but I just submitted my appeal since my admission was denied due to a missing course. My second choice is CSUF which I just need to verify enrollment for by June 1st.

I started/submitted my application last minute, so I’m a bit nervous

Good luck to all the other semi-finalists!

Speaking of which, can somebody PLEASE locate the phone number for the JKC Transfer Scholarship and call to see what that actual date is after early April for announcing the winners? Let all of us know!!!

Wow @LeidyA I’d be surprised if you don’t get it - if all that is true it makes for a very compelling case!

its almost April everyone, has the anxiety set in yet?

Definitely nervous. I just hope I know before I have to make college decisions. Otherwise I guess I pick a more affordable school and just double major if I get extra money for school lol.

Soon we shall know of the finalists. (New here) I hope we all learn early rather than dying of panic attacks just waiting.

Did anyone else receive an email recently regarding extra financial information? And if so, has there been any more correspondence from them? So nervous! Good luck guys!

April is here! Good luck to everyone!

Good Luck yall!!! Please let us know when your college informs you. Good Luck!!!

what defines “Early April”?

there are 6 finalist at my school, I know 2 of them. I did not receive another email while 1 of them did but she did mention that her tax info was confusing. @ciencia

@Bitzyspider thats a good question, last year they didn’t know till late May, so were hoping since they started in October instead of December that we should have answers soon.

anybody find anything out yet? Nail biting over here…
