Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship 2015-2016

@Jouuuu oh yah, the colleges that I mentioned in my original application have not published any results yet. They will notify me the results in “early May”

@jakobe2020 Are you 100% sure? I am very nervous. At least now we all know that we are not hearing the results soon.

So after quietly observing/obsessing over this thread, I have finally decided to hop on. I did not receive this email as well, not looking so good :frowning: Not to stir the pot, but way early on I spoke to many reps regarding my transcripts because I had academic renewal, and all of them said there would be a time to send update transcripts if I moved forward… so would seem this email might be a sign for getting to another round. But in any case, I will not give up hope just yet.

This has been a painful and stressful process, but kind of fun at the same time. Although I would be heartbroken not to receive the opportunity, I am thankful for this entertaining thread as it has provided me with some comfort in knowing that I am not alone on this emotional rollercoaster.

Anyhow, congrats to everyone for getting this far and sorry for silently stalking for so long!

@ForestryGuy Have you received this email today? I can recall that you were the one who received also the financial information email.

I wonder if everyone received the e-mail (of today from the JCKF) at the same time since the first person who posted that had recieved the e-mail was about the time the JCKF closes (eastern time)

as far as i knew, they knew the recipients a while back and were ready to proceed with notifications. evidently they’ve hit a snag. :frowning: i can try to bribe someone but they’re pretty resistant to bribery, i can tell you. :frowning: this is all kept under the strictest secrecy. maybe the college scholars confirmation/notification process went slower than expected?

i assume they are contacting schools right now. last year, schools were notified in advance and were given specific time frames to announce the winner and confirm that the recipient had been notified. however, if the JKCF are doing emails this cycle that’s disappointing and sort of anti-climatic. :frowning:

undergraduate transfer scholars were told we’d know by the “beginning of may” for one of our super secret missions.

I got the request for extra financial info Mid-Late March as well. I am poor, lets get that straight.

I also received this transcript request. 4.00 student currently. Still waiting on my top 2 schools’ decisions, mid-May/early June.

Idk guys… could mean anything, but it’s a good sign they are reaching out to us.

I didn’t get the email. 4.0 student, accepted into UCLA (hear back from Berkeley this Friday), and in need of financial aid.

Well, I am going to go ahead and assume that anyone who received this email has moved on and is under very, very serious consideration.

well that sucks, I didn’t get emails of updated anything, both times. I’m
Sure the updated emails are for the selected recipients because it means - something lol. If they are interested I’m assuming so they would request some time of info.

@sammyclaire23 yeah, that’s what I’m thinking as well. The most logical assumption going forward is that those that got the email moved on to the next round (doesn’t mean they won, but they are on the cusp), and those that didn’t are out.

Even if it’s not true, it’s probably best to go forward with this mentality. Less stressful. Haha

I also did not receive the email but i do remember asking the foundation about the first update e-mail for those who didn’t get the e-mail were disqualified or out of the running and she mention that was not the case will found out pretty soon that’s the good thing!!!

Yeah - didn’t get the email today or request for financial information originally. I’m assuming I’m out, not to be a downer for anyone in a similar situation.

4.0 GPA, straight-forward transcripts and financial aid documents and waiting to hear from my top two schools.

Good luck to everyone.

@sammyclaire23 @mifit @RlyOwl is there a possibility you are on the west coast, pacific time, and they want to send it @ 5PM?

@LostUber I’m on the West Coast (San Francisco).

@LitMajor1107 – Aren’t you on the West Coast? I’m assuming this because of the UCSD photo.

@LostUber I’m actually eastern time like VA ( where the JCKF is located) I have the same time zone as them. But, I also did not receive the e-mail in mid march asking for additional information about my financial stuff…

@mifit I didn’t receive the financial request email either.

I remembering calling the JCKF and asking if that meant I was out since I had not received the e-mail either and they the rep told me that did not mean I was no longer running that they were just asking to clear some information.

I’am also a good friend from a scholar who won 3 years ago and as I text with her she told me that the college and undergraduate transfer scholarship are two different process.

@sammyclaire23 did you get the financial email?

I’m kind of curious to know if anyone got the transcript email but not the financial email.

It would be quite obvious what they’re doing, money then grades. If someone got the transcript email and NOT the financial email then maybe the requests aren’t the deciding factors. Otherwise they’re weeding us out. A few of us haven’t gotten either of them.
