Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship 2013-2014

I’m going with what they told you college77. It makes sense that they would notify the student not the faculty because of the change in application process.

Greek girl who did they notify at your school specificity?

Specifically *

I am a parent of a young scholar and I want to say good luck and those who make it welcome to the family

For those of you who have been notified, congrats! Did you guys receive the email asking about your acceptance to the colleges you applied to a couple weeks ago?

They notified the college president, advisor notified me. I never received one of the earlier emails asking about college acceptance.

Greekgirl, did you have the college listed in your contact information or did you have your personal phone number and contact information? I’m wondering because the guy I spoke with at JKCF told me they would contact the student by phone. If they can’t reach the student on the contact number, the foundation would then send an email. He didn’t mention anything about contacting the college.

I had my personal information listed, and I never received a call from the foundation. It seems to me that every representative anyone has spoken to at JKCF has different information. And I can only speak for what has happened in my situation.

Conrgats to the winners thus far! What colleges do you plan on transferring to? Have you been accepted to any of your reach schools?

Greekgirl if you dont mind sharing what are you stats, and what did you write your essays on?

Thanks for the information, and congratulations!

I have a 4.0, am PTK president, member of SKD and Philosophy Club, and on the Board of Student Publications, do A LOT of community service. I have been accepted to Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyan University (these are the only two schools where I applied- I have children in middle school and college here, so I do not want to uproot them). TexWes is the only school in the region which offers my degree (Religion with an emphasis on Comparative Studies). I will double-major, Religion/Sociology and then do my grad work at TCU. I plan to create a non-profit to educate people on religious and cultural differences in order to promote tolerance and respect. Most of my essays were focused on how we touch lives in a positive or negative way.

I was notified today that I am a JKC Scholar! Good luck to all of you. :)

Congrats! How were you notified?

Has anyone been informed that they didn’t get the scholarship?

I was also notified this afternoon that I am among the winners of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship this year! To be clear, I did not receive an email or a phone call from the Foundation; rather, my instructors tricked me into a meeting and surprised me with the news when I least expected it! Congrats to everyone who has won!

Congrats all! That is awesome news. How many of you received the email about being accepted into a four year institution?

Me and my friends were both notified yesterday by our school representatives. We both received the email asking about college acceptance.

My friend and I both received an email from our PTK adviser that we are selected to receive the scholarship. JKCF is going to make phone calls to all recipients on Thursday April 10th.

I’m guessing that they will be sending out rejection emails after they notify all of the winners? Does anyone know if that’s how it’s been done in the past?
