I just glanced through last year’s Jax thread- it looks like the acceptances were sent out in waves. At this point, no response could either mean we’re on some sort of wait list which is dependent on who denies their acceptance, or we’re in the next wave of acceptances. Fingers crossed for everyone who is still in the dark!

Thanks for your suggestion, hopelessaromatic!

I didn’t get one. Maybe I’m waitlisted in case someone declines their offer… I hope so.

Still staying hopeful…fingers crossed… Just so you guys know, Jax Lab runs a program with like 3 magnet high schools across the nation. For example NCSSM, has a close relationship and has a program with the Jax lab. The instructor responsible for that program told me he is having 11 of his seniors that have participated in an year long Computational Biology program with the Jax lab apply to the program…so there goes some of the seats just for this one school… still hoping there is a second wave of acceptances…

I am a college freshman. Most of the post are from HS students. Are there any college students waiting to hear back. I’m still waiting but I suspect that if i haven’t had positive news by now, I should expect a rejection. If I am on a waiting list (as it seems most of those on this thread are), I find it hard to believe that those who were offered spots would reject them. Maybe one or two, but this program is everyone’s top choice. So… realistically, I expect to receive a rejection on Monday. But hopefully, i won’t :)

Given the sheer number of people on the thread who haven’t heard and the absence of those saying they’ve gotten acceptances, I would say its highly likely that most acceptances haven’t been sent out yet. It would be very hard to believe that about half the people on the thread (and by extension, half the overall program if we take it to be a representative cross-section of the applicant pool) has not heard back yet and is therefore on a wait list. It seems to me that the most likely scenario is that Monday will contain a good deal of rejection and acceptance with a minor component of people still not having heard back. These people will comprise the wait list.

Jaxhopeful, that seems likely. Especially because previous years’ threads had some people in early/mid April who were still in the dark.
NicolleD, I’m in college as well (sophomore).

I’m currently a junior in college! :)

@NicolleD I am also a college freshman and I am also waiting to hear back

College junior! And I’m still waiting.

College Freshman! Still hopeful!

Seems like I’m the only high school junior here who still hasn’t heard anything from JAX…

Well Monday should be the day because they don’t work on Sundays. Good luck everyone and hope we make it.

@unclegene6 I’m a HS junior and I still haven’t heard anything…

I’m guessing they will release the mass of the decisions on Monday. I’m hoping for the best but thoroughly prepared for rejection (I’ve got another program lined up already).

looks like a bunch of hs juniors applied this year (myself included). best of luck to you all, and just remember, unless you’re waitlisted, this will all be over in 36 hours :)

They rejected a lot of people yesterday (all applicants from my school got rejected on that day) and they don’t work over the weekend (which might be the reason why the rejections were out on Friday but nothing came out today?) so I don’t see why they would release a small portion of the rejections on Friday if they were to release all the decisions on Monday…

Anyway, Kitten, did you apply to SIMR and CoH? These are the only three I applied to even though SIMR is impossible.

Which states are you guys from? I’m from CA.

It certainly is a puzzling pattern, especially when you consider the single person who says they were accepted way back on the 21st.

Unclegene, I didn’t apply to either SIMR or CoH. I figured I would have no chance with SIMR (not that I have much of a chance with JAX), and finding housing for CoH would be an issue.
