How do you guys go about accepting/declining offers if you are still waiting to hear back from places? I have some SURP programs that require me to accept/decline the offer by this Tuesday, but I still have not heard from JAX and don’t want to have to lose out on opportunities.
@indian96 - Are you a high school student or college student? I guess if JAX is high priority, you can email them for the status and explain your situation.
@srk2017 - yes I received the email today.
@indian96 - I think a bird on hand is better than two in the bush! That is what I did when I accepted my NIH offer and I am thankful I did that. I did email Jax when I got the NIH offer, they replied saying I should probably take the NIH offer. So for me - getting a reject from Jax was almost a 100% known fact. Like @srk2017 said - you can email Jax and base your decision on how they respond.

What would it mean if you received neither an offer nor a rejection as of now?
Hi everyone! New to collegeconfidential and stumbled upon this thread. I too have not received any notification.
My daughter, college freshman, was denied via email today. It was a long shot for her from the beginning but a good experience applying. There is a 4% acceptance rate and some priority given to certain high schools and colleges, and she was not from any of those.
From the thread last year it appears that they sent our a batch of denials about this time. Then offers and denials trickled out after that until mid-April. I suspect that they make offers with deadlines and if that spot gets taken or turned down they may move to the next on the list.
It seems like if you weren’t denied an offer in the first round of denials that you may still be in the running or on one of the PI’s short lists–thought that is pure speculation on my part.

@c0llegeb0und2468 yeah it was from Mike. It just said congratulations on getting in and that the email was to confirm that I had not accepted any other program. If not, and official award letter would be sent to me. @happyalldatime I received the email Friday night at 8pm!

I emailed and asked about the decision since I hadn’t heard anything yet, and they said I was shortlisted.

what does shortlisted mean?
my guess is those on shortlist didn’t get rejection letters and they are considerations by faculty
