Hey, I was just wondering who else applied for this program. I don’t really know much about it, so if anyone has anything to share, it would be much appreciated!
The application deadline is tonight. I sent in everything. If you don’t mind me asking, what research areas are you looking at?
Is anyone else getting an error when applying? I’ve been trying since 8:50PST.
tooty44: My top 3 choices were neurobiology, research tools, and aging.
and Pluvialis: no, I think turning it in went pretty smoothly for me? You still got it in though, right?
Applied!
Are you a college student? I’m a high school junior.
Yes, I’m in college. I am a sophomore.
I applied last year and made it to the final round of selections. I actually got an email saying they were between me and two other people before getting my rejection. If I remember right they took 2% of applicants last year, it’s really difficult to get in. I applied again this year, though. Best of luck to all!
Hi, I’m a high school junior and I applied as well. I thought around 10% got in?
I applied last year as a college freshman. Generally most summer programs accept college sophomores and above so I ended up volunteering at a local lab and doing some really amazing work. I have applied again this year and have my fingers crossed. I took a look at my rejection letter from last year and it says they accepted 4% of the applicants. They said it was the most competitive year in the history of the program. I don’t know if high school applications are treated separately. Good luck everyone!
has anyone gotten a response?
@ohveer we still have a few weeks to wait… from their post-submission email:
"Admission decisions will be made by late March 2015.

I’m a junior in high school and also applied. I know my chances are slim, but I hope to get in!

@Pheonix93 What where your stats from the year you barely got rejected?
@dearestcurry well your stats are better than mine, so I’d say you have a decent shot.
Do they send out likely emails?
anyone know when they release results?

Last year they contacted “finalists” for interviews. Are they doing that this year?
