@albertsax They told me that my admissions decision was delayed until Jacobs sent them info on my audition. I can’t see why, considering my stats are good enough.
@oboeboy1917 Did you apply RD or EA to the university?
@albertsax RD. I did a recorded audition though, so they might have done that to remind me to send in my materials? I’m not sure.
@albertsax - Same situation as my son. So what do you think happens if you don’t get accepted to JSOM? Hoping you will, of course!!!
@RMSqueencat If I don’t get into Jacobs then I guess I’d still have the option to enroll in general university studies, and try to transfer in later. If I chose to go that route, I would end up needing to do 5 years to finish all the required lessons/other music courses, and there’s no guarantee I could get in after a year. But I’ve been accepted to Blair, and so I have another great school to go to.
@albertsax That’s kind of what I thought. I doubt my son will be happy with that option. Best of luck to you.
Nothing again today. Any word from JSOM for either of you?
@oboeboy1917 No, nothing today…Ugh!!
I got nothing either. Though I did hear that a friend of a friend got accepted for saxophone at least 5 days ago. Not feeling good about my own chances now
@albertsax That’s how I’m feeling too. I know that recorded auditions are different, but it’s just been so long.
My son had an in-person interview on 3/2!! We flew down from NY for a 10 min interview. The Audio Tech program takes just a small number of freshman, so the fact that it’s been almost 4 weeks with no news, doesn’t make me feel too confident.
Nothing yet again! I guess I’m just hoping that it comes at some point.
@oboeboy1917 My dad called Jacobs, and my letter was sent out on Monday! I should be getting it any day now!
No news today guys. Tomorrow has to be the day. Good luck!!!
Good luck to both of you!! Tomorrow is the day!!
Still waiting! I think it would be awful if after all this time it’s a rejection! Especially since so many others have already heard.
Good luck everyone! I guess we’ll just have to be patient and see.
@sunnysar Jacobs had the 3 audition weekends as well as recorded auditions and/or interviews, so they are rolling out their decisions. Idk if many applicants who auditioned on the last weekend have heard yet. I know one person on this thread said her DD, vocal, auditioned 3/2 and heard by 3/15. My DS had his interview on 3/2 for Audio Tech/Sound Production. Nothing today. Hoping tomorrow and trying to remain optimistic. I agree that it’s awful to wait so long just to be denied.
We know several that auditioned on March 1st or 2nd and heard about two weeks later. Some acceptances and some rejections. I understand these things take time but it sure would be nice if they let the definite rejections know right away. I suspect the remaining people will hear by Monday.
@sunnysar Maybe each studio does it differently. That’s what we can all hope!
