I changed my major to Communications but I asked to be on the wait-list for James Madison. I didn't realize you only have 4 majors to choose from, is this an issue? Should I call back and ask to be taken off the list?

James madison majors are international relations, social relations & policy, political theory & constitutional democracy, and comparative cultures & politics. If one of these majors does not seem appealing to you, yeah, definitely get off the waitlist. Generally freshman apply into the major “james madison college” and then in the spring of their freshmen year, choose one of the 4 majors within the college. If you are also interested in communications in addition to james madison, then you can contemplate double majoring (which is very common and relatively easy to do in james madison). James madison is a lot harder to switch into than out of, so if James madison seems like something you are interested in, stick with it for your freshman year and you can always switch out of it later if you find something else better suited to your interests.

Ok thanks I decided on social relations and policy. Do you know how we are notified if we get off the wait list??

I’m not certain but I’d imagine its through email.
