Jan SAT details online

Collegeboard.com put up the jan 26 SAT details today. It seems i got a 730 CR with 5 wrong and 670 Writing with 8 essay and 6 wrong.

First question is how well did this curve correlate with previous ones, and secondly, how does -6 Writing translate into 68/80?

The curve is designed to make it significantly harder to get below a 300 or above a 700 than in between. It's easy to get below a 700, you only need a few wrong.

The first three questions you can get wrong can be worth 20 or 30 points, easily, depending on the curve.

which comes back to my orginal question.. how was this curve compared to that of previous tests?

Is it normal to get a 640 in Writing with 8 wrong and 2 omits?

By the way, the curve seemed pretty normal except Writing, which seemed pretty darn harsh

GAHHHHHHHHH! The curve for reading was terrible, I got a raw score of 63 and got a 760. Not fair....

-2 for CR was 800. I'm not sure how that compares with previous tests. 12 essay and -6 multiple choice is a 740 writing. -1 math is 790.

I'm reading my essay and I'm shocked I got a 12.

I didn't realize you could miss 6 and get a 690 (in CR). =( Well, at least now I know to skip questions on my next try. The writing curve was kind of harsh, though.

^You got a 740 writing with 12 essay and -6 MC...? I got 640 with 10 essay and -12 MC... (or is this normal?)

does anyone have the link?

Supercai - go to My SAT and click on view score report.

i meant if anyone has the link to a table with the relationship between raw score and scaled score

-3 math...equates to a -4 b/c guessing penalty...gives you a 740!!!!! agh thats so harsh!!!

@arduous did you really get 690 for -6 CR? i had -5 and it only brought me down to 730, so that is a huge drop-off for one question

@mike, how were you reading your essay? mine isnt posted online (or at least i cannot find it)

actually, just found the link to the essay, so nvm

bco09 - Yeah, the total incorrect is 6. I did omit one though. That is still a huge difference. sigh Maybe the ACT will be nicer ...

mine aren't up yet... is anyone else having this problem?
It used to say "Check back in 7-10 days..", but now it says
"Did you know you can sign up a parent to get copies of important emails you get from the College Board?" when I go to the student page after logging in.
