I have a confusion about my score, so I wanted to see if the curve was really that harsh...

please post

how many mc questions u missed

essay score

and you score out of 800...

I missed 2, 10e, and got 750... does this seem correct?

It does make the difference btw. 2100 and 2200 for me

It does seem right. Last June I got 3 wrong and a 10 Essay and got a 700. Writing is a tough scale

I also took the January test. I got a 780 with 2 wrong and a 12 essay.

USA Test
Missed 1 - 750 MC subscore
10 essay
780

USA test as well-
-1 MC (75) + 10 essay
770 total…

why are some people’s scores higher? ^

Also took the USA test, got -1 MC (75 – it’s like the PSAT curve all over again! ) and 10 on the essay, resulting in a 770. It seems like lots of folks got 750 or 770s on Writing and/or 730s on CR lol

USA test. 75 MC (-1) and an 11 essay got me a 790.

Not so many actually. For all of 2012 approximately 20,000 college bound students got 750 or higher on SAT writing. That’s out of 1,600,000 students.

So take all the super selective colleges and determine the number of spaces they have for incoming freshman. Surely many incoming freshman were accepted with writing scores below 750.

A score of 750+ is pretty good, and indeed not that common.

Perfect MC
8 on Essay
760 :(

-3 MC (68/80)
11 Essay
730

This is in comparison to the October SAT, where I got:
-2 MC (76/80)
9 Essay
760

January Writing had a very difficult curve

Agreed. I had -1 MC and 8 Essay (yes, I know, it sucks) and 720.

75 MC (1 wrong, 0 omitted) 9 Essay = 760 (Jan 26th USA)

USA SAT January 2013

740 Writing (2 wrong, 10 essay)

International SAT
MC 75 (2 wrong), 9E
Score: 740

US test
80 on MC (all correct)
9 essay
=790

Hi, I know this is late, but I got a 68 MC subscore and only answered three questions incorrectly. My essay was awful (a 7). Does this make sense?

Thanks!
