January 2010 - Math Level 2

yup~jansat i got the same ans as u for the abs value problem~

i got 599
the question asked for the maximum point
so i just took the derivative of the equation to get like -9.8x=-107
got x and then plugged that back into the original equation to get 599

jansat, I got that too.
Miao123, I think it was E. 2 is a prime number. I’m not sure

Sporty posted a good question in another thread, “can anybody tell me what they got for the question with the Roman numerals…
I. cos 2theta is greater than sin theta
II. sin 2 theta is less than…
III. tan theta is greater than sin theta.”
I was wondering about this one too.

I’m also wondering about the quadratic regression problem… if anyone is new to this thread and knows the answer to it, please share

jansat, i got the same
miao, i put 2 is a prime number.

gildedmushroom & mrdoodle65, yay i got 2 is a prime # too~
gildedmushroom do u happen to still have the lists of #s for the quadratic regression prob?

the answer to the roman numerals one you guys just mentioned is only II and III

i think you got the numerals messed up
I sin theta is greater than sin 2 theta, which it isn’t at all points from 0 to pi over two
II i forgot but it was right, trust me
III yeahh tan theta seems to always be larger than sin theta

i just got III for that

i got teo is prime also, does anyone remember the number question that was, the letter to that was E right?

and heres the list
0 1 2 3 4
1.5 22 32 34 20

Miao. the numbers for the regression problem were I think:
0, 1.5
1, 22
2, 32
3, 34
4, 20
credit goes to mrdoodle for remembering though… ahah
and I don’t remember what I put for that Roman numerals question with the 2theta and everything…

I know this is a stretch, but does anyone remember what #38 was? It was the only one I skipped and I forgot what the problem was…

Edit; Yeah jansat, the answer to the prime number question was E. 2 is a prime number

If you got 599 as well, then his equation is probably wrong. The choices were all between 1 and 6.

i got 5.2 for the quadratic regression

sry gildedmushroom, i don’t remember what that was.

but does anybody know if the scores can be curved so that our scores come out to be higher than the ones listed in the official collegeboard book.

b/c i’m thinking of cancelling my score since i already got over 700 and was striving for 800 but i don’t think that’s possible with 5skip and 3 wrong so far…

I got just three for the roman numeral one where like tan=-tan or something

What about the one divisible by 180…I think I got 30 for that one

@tuezmoi

^how did you get that

Yes, tuezmoi, I love you. I did too. Did you guess or did you work it out on a calculator or something?

i guessed rofl

the divisible by 180 one asked what number raised by the integer k would be divisble by 180

if you just plug all that stuff into the calculator

30 ^ 2 = 900 which is clearly divisible by 180

i think 599 is the answer to the physics question? that was E right, the highest point?

for the regression one… was 4.9 one of the answers? because i’m pretty sure that’s what i got
