Got my Lit score today and I was beyond happy. So happy I ran around the house screaming and almost fell. I got a 710 which, in my opinion, is incredible and I am so grateful. It's a definitely welcomed improvement over my 580 from the first time. So how about you?

I got a 700. I was getting higher scores in practice tests and I thought I did better on the test so I was a little disappointed. Anyone want to guess at what the curve was?

I’m glad you got a 580 and improved to a 710. Wanna share how you did that? xD

I got a 620 which isn’t bad necessarily, but it is definitely a long shot from what I wanted so I’m going to retake it.

And I’m not so sure about the curve…wish there was a way we could figure out which questions we got wrong :(

I got a 710
not necessarily upset but not exactly stoked either;
I did better on the practice tests :/

I improved form a 690 last November to a 770 in January!

I got an 680. Not disappointed, but I’m certainly retaking.

Wow, all of these retake increases really seem encouraging. Here’s hoping I can get a 730+ come June.

Right? I’m with you there Smacking.

Smacking,

What schools are you interested in? What other subject tests have you taken? Do you consider 730 on literature to be a score worth keeping? Are you a junior this year? Thanks for answering.

Got an 800 and I’m pretty damn happy. Quite an improvement from 670 I would say =P

Paid attention in AP Lit class. XD And read a lot of material. I also used the Princeton Review study guide which I found really helpful not only in covering material but also in telling me roughly what I need to get right in order to reach a target score.

Basically, I’d like to try to get into Yale, though I’m not sure what I’ll decide my main goal to be until December comes. Personally, I’d probably keep a 730 on Literature. Its important however to note that I’m a non-native speaker so that might make a difference for you. Not that I wouldn’t want a score closer to 800 than 730. Heh.

And yes, I’m a junior, and this was my first SAT overall. I’ll be taking the Reasoning Test in May, and Literature, German (and maybe a 3rd subject) in June. I hope that was helpful :).

Congratulations! It’s posts like these that help me maintain my confidence. :D

Thanks for responding. I’m the parent of a junior who scored a 730 on the lit SAT II. He took the physics and math II subject tests in 8th grade and got an 800 and 760, respectively, but he’s retaking the math II in May since he’s had so much math in the past three years and we can assume he’ll get an 800.

He feels good about his 730 on the lit test but I was on the fence about whether to have him retake it or not. I think he might take the chem SAT II in October and if that’s very good, then the 730 should be fine. As a point of reference, his SAT I score from December was 2320 (800 math, 790 CR, 730 W) and he’s interested in Princeton (among other schools).

No problem ^^ Just study and take practice tests, it’s the best thing you can do.
