Hey I am taking the SAT Subject Test in Literature in November and I recently purchased Barron's study guide for the test. Although the book is very helpful, when I took the first diagnostic test I wasn't sure what my score was because its grading scale was in terms of "Excellent"(Raw Score 55-60), "Very Good"(Raw Score 45-55), "Above Average", etc. There was no actual SAT score. So does anyone have a table that shows what your SAT score would be with your raw scores? I got a 36 raw score on the first test.

Haha, I got a 36 on my first one. That's equivalent to about 620ish

oh yea? you have the barrons book too?

I got this from a post on CC:
From the 05-06 PR book:
800 = raw score of 56 to 61
750-790 = raw score of 50 to 55
700-750 = raw score of 45 to 59
650-690 = raw score of 39 to 43
600-640 = raw score of 33 to 38
550-590 = raw score of 28 to 32
500-540 = raw score of 23 to 27
400-490 = raw score of 11 to 22
300-390 = raw score of -1 to 10

thank you that helps out a lot :) so have any of you guys taken the actual lit exam before? How was it?

Hard. Very hard. But fun in a twisted way

Poetry killed me. :(

Yeah, hard. But again, fun in a twisted way. :)

VERY twisted

k so I by twisted do you mean ambiguous and difficult , or were they just about some crazy ****?

more of the former than the latter :P

I agree. Hard, but fun in a twisted way. That's a good way to describe it. :D

i thought it was easy. :p I used the barron's to study for it. maybe that's why?

Yea I'm using the barron's book right now and it seems very comprehensive. How much more difficult are their practice tests than the actual test?

^ Far more difficult. Barron's tests are good to a certain point. Then you want to take ALL of the Kaplan tests :)

k cool cuz a friend of mine just gave me his kaplan books. so the kaplan tests are pretty close in difficulty level to the actual test?

I felt that they were pretty close in format and difficulty. But NOT in the wording...no one but CB can write such ridiculous answer choices

If I struggle with SAT CR, would SATII Lit be a good idea? Even if I studied and got a book, with only two weeks to go...

^ Probably not. Lit is harder than CR, so it probably wouldn't be wise...

That's what I thought. Oh well, so much for well roundedness :D
