January 2012 SAT Score Prediction/Results

How do you know your essay scores? All I have are the three scores for the sections. When I click more info, it says I have to wait until Feb. 21st…

2260.

720 on the math section, my absolute best section. I guess carelessness got its way into my head while I was doing the sections. That 720 should have been an 800.

Retaking it in March. (Or if my ACT scores prove themselves worthy, I’ll simply not go)

I’m kinda amused by all of the people ****ed about 2200+. Hell, anything above 1800 is a good score in reality, although I suppose depending on the college you may want to shoot for 2000 or 2100. But still, the higher you get, the less colleges care about score separation.
Here’s putting things into perspective:
my score of 2250 (which I’m psyched about, btw) is in the 99th percentile. Now let’s think about this. Let’s say about 1.5 million people take the SAT each year (which, correct me if I’m wrong, is pretty close to correct). The top one percent is 15,000 people. You may be saying “well that’s a lot of people!”. Compare these two numbers. Now, there are people in the thread complaining about HIGHER SCORES. If somebody could explain the logic in this, it’d be appreciated.

FastNeutrino, when it comes down to complaining about a high score, it becomes more about personal achievement than admissions pleasing. A higher score will always satisfy more than a relatively lower score.

CR 660
Math 590 (I have no idea how this happened, I’m so disappointed)
Writing 660 70+7 (I have no idea how my essay was this bad either…)
Total: 1910
Any tips for getting math and the essay better? This was my first time taking them and I didn’t study at all so next time i’m hoping for 700s in Writing and CR and 650 in Math.

YESS! 2400. SO. FREAKING. HAPPY.

Even though I got a 9 on my essay, lol.

There’s nothing wrong with striving for perfection.

Haters can hate.

800 on writing :slight_smile: Haha I only got a 9 on my essay but full points on MC :slight_smile: Woot woot

Can anyone answer my question? How many incorrect questions make a 750 for CR?

@Monepo

No one knows. My guess is about 3-5.

790 W (10 Essay)
720 M
720 CR

I don’t know what to say :expressionless: . I know, there really isn’t anything wrong with my score, but. I just thought I would do much better on Math. This was the first time i got lower than a 780 (all my others have been just practice tests). Oh well, it’s my first time. Time to break out the Blue Book again!

800 M
760 R
780 W (80 MC, 8 Essay)

I’m just glad that now I don’t have to take any more general standardized tests. :smiley: (Still have subjects, APs, &c)

2400 :smiley: I was very suprised. It seems like many people did well on this SAT.

Is it just me or are there abnormally many people in here with 2400s? How many are there usually per test?

Maybe 2-4?

My scores aren’t up yet… I have a bad feeling about this.

January SAT Scores 2012

Math: 660
Critical Reading: 660
Writing: 640, essay 8

Did anyone else think that they received a super low essay score, when they actually thought that it was one of their best essays? Normally, I would get 10s, or 11s and they were graded professionally.

Also is there like a “rescore essay” feature? Finally, do people recommend taking the SAT twice.

there are a multitude of 2400s per test. I already know 2 of my friends who have gotten 2400s (and one with a 2390, another with a 2370, a smart one with a 2380, a smart one with a 2340, and a slacker with a 2320)

I should just transfer schools.

@stephenhandal

There is no rescore option. You should take it again.

@stephenhandal YES YES

I wrote my essay exactly how I would write for my tutors AND for the collegeboard official website practice test (which I got an 11 on) and only got a 9. :(
