***January 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread***

What did you guys get for the question about the geometric sequence, something like w (x) = something^0.5x – I can’t really remember. I got 1420 or something similar, can anyone verify?

And can you guys post any answers you remember for the dark matter passage?

And does anyone remember the wording of the question that asked for the 142nd term (it was a pattern that went 1, -2 repeating but started with a different number, I believe.)

Another question: In the passage about Marion, what does sound represent?
D- an unfamiliar custom
E- a byproduct of being a newcomer

@sb2017 I got 8420. it was 400^(0.5(1)) + 400^(0.5(2)) + 400^(0.5(3)). It was asking for the sum of the sequence for the first three terms.

Guys what the one with the squares and you have to find the value of X a grid in?

@sb2017 The answer to the marion question was E-byproduct of being a newcomer.

Hey did anyone else take Sunday test?

@ratclown The solve for x grid-in was 36.

shouldn’t the curve be the same as the curve for the June 2014 test since theyre the exact same tests?

No curves have to do with percentiles for each specific test

@thetex i agree, biased was incorrect. i cant remember the other answer choices or the question but i know i eliminated it for an actual reason, not just because i thought it was wrong

@livelovelol i put celebrities’ publicity rights, the 2nd article discussed more than just scholarly opinions on the topic

@SandrewP really? I thought they were “standardized” so like a score of 760 on one test would be the same as a 760 on another.

I thought the curve was based on the difficulty of the questions, which is already determined since they recycled the June 2014 test this time.

Can we show this to some new agency? I’m really shocked that they would repeat such a recent test!

@JuicyMango yeah, thats what I thought.

@joeweller we could (maybe like FairTest?), but they probably can’t do anything about it. College Board has a monopoly on our education system. Nobody can do anything to them.

It’s unfair because someone who happened to have the June 2014 QAS test could basically get a 2400, which would give them an enormous advantage in college admissions. And the rest of us had to work hard to get our scores.

Where can I find the June 2014 test? I checked crack but the test on there was completely different

There is no QAS for June. Only October, January, and May.

I’ve redone practice sections after like 7 months and didn’t remember a single question

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

If it’s not on the CB site, then it’s pirated, like the tests on the crack site; therefore they violate copyright and are inappropriate for discussion here.

Look at the US discussion…its definitely the same questions. CrackSAT has the wrong SAT under the link for June 2014.
