January Admission

Is anyone attempting to get into Wake for January this year?

can I?? i'd love to leave UNC CHapel hilL!!

You don't like UNC? How come?

i feel like i've walked into a high school where everyone is established. i mean, we never had a period where no one knew each other and everything was new. everyone i met told me they were here with half their high school and most had grown up coming to chapel hill. being an OOS student, it's so frustrating. frustrating as hell. if you're instate or coming with a good friend, i'm sure it's fine. but i am here as the only one from my HS and my roommate is also OOS and knows no one. people are very nice ... dont get me wrong, but most are already cozy with what they have. i dont blame them, i'd be the same way if i went to clemson or south carolina.

Give it some time ahduke99. I hope it works out, a lot of folks are in your boat, but it might just take some time to get adjusted.

yeah that's what everyone keeps telling me. i see no light at the end of the tunnel. plus, i love wake forest. i was born in winston before i moved to charleston as a young boy. it was my first choice (but i didnt get off the waitlist..no one did) .. so i may try to get in again. i'll assess this by the end of november. by then, if nothing has changed, its time to go.

weird that you got into UNC out of state but not wake.

i know. i hit a string of bad luck in may 2006 and it's been downhill ever since.

aww. well i'm sure if you don't get used to UNC you can always transfer into wake.

I am thinking about transferring...does anyone know the rate of acceptance for transfer students?

i dunno .. i am looking to transfer after this year, but my college counsellor apparently told my sister it was "virtually impossible" to transfer in, and others have told me its easier to get in as a transfer than it is to get in as a freshmen.

are you looking to transfer for spring semester?

i was going to transfer for spring semester, but i think i have decided on another school....oh, well.
