January SAT 2012 CR International Compiled List of Answers.

It’s more likely ‘weighty’, AnimoC, even though I put ‘humorless’ down as the answer.

yes i got reading experimental

“Overly sweeping” is also the correct answer. Because he explicitly says “Well they’re wrong. Or at least they’re simplifying it” or something along those lines.

so that doesnt help…anyone who got experimental section in math or writing?
what abt u, fat nerd?
yes it had 8 sections …and i know it is experimental…but cant recall the passages

Alright, it’s good we have conflicting opinions, ColdFlame. Now it’s up to the users of CC to choose whichever interpretation they deem more likely, and decide to adhere to.

My experimental section was Critical Reading. The only thing I recall, was that number 8 in the S/Cs went something like:
Professor Hendrex made a distinction between quixotic people and those who were more ---------
A) X
B) X
C) X
D) X
E) Unpredictable

thats the only thing i can recall too
i think somebody who got an experimental section in w/m can help us
figure that out

The non-experimental passages were:
Garbage/Archaeologists
Boy on roof/Star
Chess/Effects of technology on society
Anime/Manga

Anything else was experimental (Including the Lost Explorer)

EDIT: @ColdFlame, thanks, edited.

No, lost explorer was experimental. Garbage was + Star is non-experimental.

^ are you sure? …star passage had 8 sc questions …8 sc questions cr section has only
one large passage…the rubbish one was a large passage too

fat_nerd did u get cr experimental?
what about that star and garbage…

I’ve edited my post, but here, I’ll state the non-experimental passages again:
Garbage/Archaeologists
Boy on roof/Star
Chess/Effects of technology on society
Anime/Manga

now it makes sense

i found the lost explorer passage easy relative to the other passages on the test.should not have been experimental!

The “overly sweeping” answer… What were the other answers?
The same for “fleeting”
Also, is everyone sure on the “exploring larger world” for the boy/star passage?

Consensus should be met on the “artist painting a flattering picture of the benefactor” because it was about “retainers” and admiring “family members”. So the benefactor-artist relationship best represents retainer/family member relationship with the pharaoh I think.

^ but you missed a key work ‘fawning’ (used in the passage)

^And you missed a keyword “flattering picture” :)

A fan making a biography on a beloved celebrity is just as ‘flattering’ as an artist making a portrait of his benefactor, ColdFlame.

Can someone please answer my questions (found above) :/

Professor Hendrex made a distinction between quixotic people and those who were more ---------

The answer is pedestrian. Quixotic means romantic and dreamy, pedestrian means “common” and in some occasions “boring” .

The passage about the “wanderer” or the deranged guy with the peculiar interests as I like to call him. I enjoyed this one. Finsihed 2 minutes in advance and even giggled. I can hardly recall anything from there…

I think 22 or 23 was "positive effect from negative effect " or something similar . It was about people getting lost and how they should feel about it.

And it was experimental? Damn. It was my first section after the essay.
