@idkName: did it have an absolute value in it? I guessed on that one because I figured it must have had a radical. Without the absolute value (your answer) it would have been D.
My score for Barron’s were around 630 to 680 I believe.
My score for McGraw Hill were 730 at first then it went to 780.
Official SAT prep was a 750
My score for Chung’s was a 670…
I did those in November. I didn’t study that much from the December test to January, except one Chung’s test…
@TheGreatCatsbyx Yes it did. here is how I solve it. distance formula is sqrt((x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2). So fore y, we can plug in mx+b. So we will get sqrt((mx+b-b)^2 + (x-0)^2), which simplifies to sqrt((mx)^2+x^2), which is sqrt(m^2x^2 + x^2), then you can factor out a x to get sqrt(x^2(m^2+1)), then you pull out the x because sqrt of x^2 is x, and square rooting a square absolute value it, so I get |x|sqrt(m^2+1).
Collegeboard has probably changed the difficulty of this, after seeing how easy it was to get 800. It was a test of the calculator, not the brain. Now, its gonna be hard. Don’t know what to do!
Probably ^ . But for peeps like me,10 WRONG. Thats like 38 raw score = 750 or so. I worked hard for this. THIS IS WHAT I GET? Note to self and others: Don’t give the Jan tests, CB is in an experimental mood in the beginning of the year.
@TheGreatCatsbyx Do colleges know if you cancel scores? I just don’t want to go through this all again D: I can’t take the Subject Tests in May because its right before AP Exams, and in June Im already taking 2 others --> I don’t want that to be 3 D:
UGH THE STRESS. Well as of now I have 2 skipped 4 wrong, if the curve is like in the book that would be a 43 and still an 800. But anything else wrong would just drop and drop and drop. What should I do >:(
@jetnyz no, they don’t know. Last year I was going to take the Bio test but then I panicked so I ditched. The colleges never saw that either. and I also don’t want to do this again, studying Math II is horrible and time consuming, plus I want to focus more on APs/extracurricular stuff/ the real SAT for my remaining junior year . Also, my math class is primarily Calculus-based, so I probably will have forgotten all the Math II content by May.
It’s horrible because I’m planning to be a STEM major. Every other applicant has 800s, esp. for schools like Caltech where they prefer higher-scoring applicants Will it hurt if I don’t get an 800??
I’m hoping for a good curve (prays). I already know I got 6 wrong and 2 omitted… What’s worse is that I might have done worse than my first time.
My testing center was closed yesterday, and they postponed the Math 2 test until February 7. Does anyone know if I’ll still get my scores on February 12, or do they also postpone the score release two weeks? Also, will this test be the same one administered on the 31st or will the content be different? Thanks!
Was I one of the few who didn’t find it as hard as some people are suggesting. I attempted 47, and pretty sure I might get 2 or 3 wrong, and sadly, I did the worst among my friends, they all were joking about how easy it was.
Hopefully 800, and I hope everyone gets what they wanted.
