Jersey Girl's Chances?

Tons of kids from my school apply to Nova (about 35-38 each year.) Many of the top 10% just apply as a safety school, get accepted but don't go. I attend the highest rated public school in NJ. It is extremely competitive and we send many kids to the ivy and upper tier schools. I applied to the Business School and I really want to go.

So here goes my numbers... do you think I have a chance at EA, given all the comp at my school.

GPA 4.60 (out of 4) - 5.70 (out of 5.) I only have weighted GPA

Top 5% in very competitive school

17 honors/AP classes

ACT 30
Many leadership school leader activities, School Ambassador, Tutor, NHS, Language Honor
Society, Moderate amount of community service

Very good essay
Very good letters of rec

No sports (bad, I know ;(

Legacy

I really want to get in early action and be done with the whole process! What do you'all think my chances are at EA - given average ACT score?

I think you are pretty much in. The GPA is outstanding, and number of AP’s is very high. As you noticed, your ACT is a little low in comparison to your grades, but if you’re doing as well as you say at such a competitive school, you’re probably in.

Good luck!

I applied Early Action as well.

Good luck to you too SamSam!
I know my ACT is not very high…but hopefully they will take notice of how hard I have been working in school and let that be what drives the EA decision.

dont worry about it

The ACT is the only thing. I got into VSB with a 4.6~ at a competitive HS with a 2100 SAT (1400 M+R). We would love to have you. Yes, lots of kids are from Jersey. All over Jersey.
