I am still in the process of applying for admission to UT, bt I already know that this is where I will go regardless of whether I am accepted into my major or not. However, I would like to know which is better for freshmen to live in, Jester east or west, I don't know anything about them, but I have been told that most freshmen live at Jester.

East has some renovated rooms but I’d still stay in west. If you’ll search through some old threads, you’ll find a lot more information than I could hope to give you in one post. While a lot of people place a lot of concern on the dorm, I think you should be as preoccupied with who your roommate will be. If you’re interested in branching out and meeting new people, I’d still recommend matching up with them in a fashion that grants you a little more control. Fact of life: everyone complains about their roommate. Hopefully you can find someone you don’t have to complain too much about :)

Best of luck and hook 'em!

I don’t think you have a choice between the two Jester buildings when you set your preferences… but I like East because the floors are less confusing than in West, and it’s less “busy” in the lobby.
