I'm digging this post up because I never had a chance to reply in the midst of finals...:D

To the student looking to transfer to JHU, I think everyone covered your questions - if your HS record isn't great, look into transferring for your junior year, play up your research during application time and have a great resume of extracurriculars, and compose a decent set of essays. Admissions decisions are unpredictable, so I can't give you an exact formula for success, however, if you put time and effort into the application, essays, recommendation letters, etc., you'll have a decent shot.

DorkAlert and others (who aren't planning to attend, lol) congratulations on your acceptances! Dork, if you have specific questions about Hopkins, feel free to reply or PM me. I originally transferred last year as a Neuroscience/Psych major, and Pre-Med, but then switched over to Public Health/Psych (still Pre-Med, lol), since I want to take advantage of taking classes at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

We also just organized a new "Transfer Exchange" on the Message Board, (apply.jhu.edu/forums), feel free to register if you have transfer-related questions and want answers/perspectives from a few different transfer students posting on the boards.

Tanya, I beleive we have talked before on the JHU forums. This could be the start of a very fruitful relationship. You see, since you're a JHU insider, you must know some of the admissions people there right? So do you think you could pull some strings in the admissions office to let me in? I know, youre wondering whats in it for you.

A fair question indeed, since I am from India, I can hook you up with the best of Indian food, clothes, gold, or whatever your heart deisres thats Indian, I can give it.

Think about it, its a very good offer and you could be very rich (Indian style). Feel free to PM me should you have additional questions on this (or other) matter(s).

Supindy = One lesson to learn when working with anyone in (or directly related to) Admissions, whether it be at Hopkins, or any other school you might apply to in the future: absolute professionalism is always key.

Yes Bourne, it stinks that Syracuse won, but hey, what can you do? :) I only had a chance to see the end of the game, I felt pretty bad for the graduating seniors.
