startas - i think someone started a waitlist thread on here. if it makes you feel any better, i think jmu has a pretty low yield that lets them take more people off the waitlist (400+ in recent years)

@brishe thank you i found it!

@ startas maybe youll get my spot, cant decided what to do bbecause ill have to take out a $38,000 loan to go for 2 years. Im stuck.

@vspinelli thats so frustrating! well, i guess it really depends on the difference between what you’ll be taking out at your current university and jmu. but jmu would actually be cheaper for me, so i’m hoping for good news in june!

@vspinelli

Would you mind givng your high school stats as well? Meaning, GPA and SATs. I’ve applied for transfer to JMU as well and have yet to hear from them. I have a 3.71 GPA thus far in college (I am a second semester freshman). Also, are you a sophomore this year at Stony Brook, or are you a Freshman and will be a Sophomore this year?

@JMUdukes11

in high school, my gpa was a 95/100 and i used my ACT which was a 29 (equivalent to a 1300/1600 SAT). I was also a 3 sports athlete. I am currently in my second semester of my sophomore year at Stony Brook with over 60 credits (3.17 GPA). I am also on the varsity football team at SBU (division 1AA) which may have helped…?

Did you get an email from the JMU Admissions Office asking for your midterm grades for this semester? I’m just curious because I got an email about a week and a half ago and was wondering if anyone else did too.

@ vspinelli Oh ok, that makes since then. And yeah, JMU apparently loves athletes so that definitely halped you even more. Congrats on your admission. Hopefully I’ll be there with you!

I applied as a transfer and still haven’t heard anything. Is JMU sending out e-mails or is everything being mailed out via the postal service? I only live a few hours away. Feeling very nervous.

I never got an e-mail, just an acceptance packet in the mail.

What could be the reason for my not recieving a letter yet?

l1ndsy00 – You may want to contact admissions tomorrow to ask. I believe letters were mailed last week, so it may be a mail issue. Admissions will be able to give you more information. :)

haha. thank you. overly anxious.

good luck! :)
