i am applying for a job as cashier for my local grocier store. do i need to send in a resume with the application? if so what do i write on the resume? grades? sat scores? extracurriculars? etc...

they usually have standard apps

you don't need to send in a freaking resume.

seriously, SAT scores?

how about you ask them what they need/want?

usually lower level jobs don't require a resume, but instead have an application that you fill out....sometimes it is computerized and sometimes it is a paper app. If the app asks you for your grades, etc (mine asked for my GPA at CVS) then fill it in, but don't try to put in that information unless it is asked for. Mostly they ask if you have experience (which I didn't) and what hours a week you can work, as well as some references...nothing too bad.

Yeah, maybe tell them your math grades so they know you can handle cashier. Actually, I never did that for my job, it isn't necessary, but yeah.

The skills you need to get good SAT scores, be president of 3 clubs/do lots of ECs, and have a high GPA or math grades have absolutely nothing to do with high-school level jobs. It simply doesn't matter when you start doing the work.

if anything, listing all of your ECs may detract from the merit of your application, because they don't want you focusing on everything except work. I would be careful working during the school year...make sure school is a priority. I have been working 20 hours a week since the start of school, and it has been very difficult.

ok, my mom own three stores and when she hires a worker she asks for a resume if you have it. basically it includes your high school, GPA, work/volunteer exp, a couple ECs, and 2 references. that's it. and most hs'ers she hires don't have resumes.. good luck
