I have the opportunity at my job to he promoted. I have been there for about 15 months and feel i deserve a promotion... The problem is is that the hours are Long and i am guaranteed to be out until at least 1 in the morning at least twice a week during school and also on the weekends.so i guess my question is, is it worth it?

dude…I was in your shoes a few months ago. I worked at a grocery store as a cashier and my manager told me she wanted to promote me to supervisor and I was like “sure why not?” I had absolutely no freakin clue how hard it was. I had to watch over everyone to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to, handle a TON of customers calling about complaints, yelling at me about their complaints, while selling lotto tickets and cigarettes, when it got busy in the store I had to get on a cash register, and on top of all that I had a lot of sales reports and stuff that HAD to be done before I left. While I was in high school. I had to go straight to work every single day immediately after school and wouldn’t leave until about 12am most nights and I also had to work most weekends. Please, please, please don’t do it man haha. I got home at 12 and had to start all my homework and wouldn’t get to bed until around 3 or 4am then wake up for school at 6. My grades slipped so hard and teachers got mad at me cuz I slept in class so much. So I quit after like 2 months.
BUT…the pay was absolutely fantastic and it probs would’ve looked good on college apps but since I had already finished all of mine when I got promoted it was kinda useless. But seriously man I would stay away from it if you gotta stay there til 1am everyday. The pay isn’t worth it. And plus, no matter how much you like working there, you’re gonna hate it so much working there so long. Trust me.

1 AM sounds way too late to be out, especially if you can’t get your homework done before then.
I’d kill to have a part-time job, but this case sounds too stressful.

Im still a little unsure about it but thanks for the input
