Anyone else getting an on campus job?! Or know of any places that give flexible hours? I already know I’ll have a tight schedule so I’m trying to figure out which places to apply to! Thanks :)

You could try getting a job in the residence hall where you live. I have heard you can get studying in while you staff the desk.

Many campus jobs are limited to work-study applicants, but being an OA (office assistant) in your dorm may be a good option. Like RMGsmom said, you can usually do other things while staffing the front desk, and since most are staffed 24-7, you could potentially have flexible hours, though some of them might be in the middle of the night.

There are lots of off-campus stores and restaurants that hire students too.

The desk jobs are very competitive. My daughter has applied twice with no luck. Her friend is working 12-5 am, then sleeps for awhile.

You could sign up to be an OWL which would at least get you on campus early to apply for jobs.

Any on-campus job will be flexible with your hours. Try to be an OA first, since it’s extremely convenient, and if that doesn’t work out apply to dining services. I’m going into my third year and I still work for campus dining. It’s easy, and once you’re off your meal plan, free meals at work are wonderful.
