Jobs

I'm 15 years old and I'd really like to work somewhere.
What kind of jobs could I get at my age?

Bagger at a grocery store. It's an honorable job.

I did it before promoted to cashier when I turned 16.

I think it's good to have some humility.

same except im a 17 year old. i went around asking starbucks, subway, grocery stores, but none are hiring...

It's because your old people population is down here in Florida. making driving ridiculous. =]

Burger King is where it's at!

Chick fil a gives scholorships if you work there long enough

You'll find it hard in this economy. Maybe your school needs student assistants or something, those jobs might be easier to get than real jobs.

Hmm..I Know lots of people who are lifeguards?

My brother always told me that working at a grocery store sucks. He was a stocker or something, so lots of heavy lifting.
I think it's easier to get a job at a local chain than a nation-wide store. They're usually nicer. Try that.

Fast food... Seriously, you have to start down there unless you've got good connections.

New question (didn't want to start a new thread for this): Should I ask around for internships if I am only 15 years old?

It seems like 16 years is the "internship age" but unfortunately I have a late birthday..

I don't care if it is paid or non-paid, it's the experience that I want.

college is the internship age ^^^

I have to second Penn, college is usually when someone gets an internship - (particularily since some of the pickier internships are only available for college credit and they won't even consider you unless you're in college.)

and even if you started applying for some now, you'd be competing against college students, who likely have more experience and education in the field than you do.

Seriously? A lot of my high school junior friends got internships the summer before junior year...

Like the others have said, grocery stores/fast food joints are probably going to be your best options right now.

Try babysitting or pet-sitting if you don't need a regular paycheck. The work is pretty easy and if you're good with kids/animals, you can make at least minimum wage. Plus, sitting won't suck too much time out of your schedule. :)

I think you'll have more options when you turn 16. I agree with Modulation-- working in the fast food business is the only place that I can think of where you could work at 15 years old. Maybe, you could ask someone to hire you as an assistant filing papers or running errands at an office?

Hey, what about if you're 14 and you seriously don't want to work at a fast food place or at a super market/grocery store? Is not that I would not like those jobs is just that I would not be comfortable there

Your choices are pretty limited at age 14.

Try finding some jobs that are "out of the box."

For example. when I was 17, my friends and I all got jobs at Walt Disney World; which was, oddly enough, a lot of fun working there.
