thank you for your kindness and it is really sweet of you to be so nice to us in a stressful time :))
Yeah no problem!! I also have my jhu email on my profile somewhere (in my activity), feel free to email me there if you have questions
ok guys so I finally got a response to the email I sent (about five days ago):
this is what I said:
Thank you so much! Do you know if admissions officers are currently reviewing files and when they plan on notifying students on the waitlist? I heard that they are planning on closing this waitlist by early July and then moving on to the transfer waitlist however Iâm not sure if thatâs true or not. Also, how does Hopkins notify waitlist decisions is it through email, phone call, or portal change?
Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it this whole process has been confusing especially because the admissions committee has been almost radio silent for two months so itâs really helpful to hear from you.
and this was the response
Yeah, still havenât heard a date. But, you will most likely be notified by email as you were previously.
Good Luck and I hope your wait isnât much longer.
so idk what to make of it I think person responding to me just didnât really have any more information to give me and kind of brushed off my questions
â â â , is the admissions committee keeping secrets from one another at this point?? Whoever responded seems to be just as clueless as us
Thanks for telling us what they said, youâre right though they really were not able to give us much information, again hopefully we hear something soonâŠ
yeahh itâs really weird but I think we might hear something this week thereâs no way weâre going in to July without hearing anything
Who knows. I think at this point the one thing we can be sure of is that we shouldnât underestimate their silence.
So itâs July 1st and weâve still heard nothingâŠ
Do you mind me asking what youâre thinking when you say that we shouldnât underestimate their silence?
Yeah ofc! I was only saying, given the fact that theyâve already stayed silent for way longer than any of us could have reasonably expected, we shouldnât expect anything from them just because itâs July.
I was reading the waitlist mega thread on Reddit and a person who was accepted into the school left a comment on a waitlist applicant that the school might be full and the only reason why they are leaving it open is because of international visas. The person said that after talking with someone in student government the person did the math and said the school might be full without any waitlist acceptance.
But who knows how true it may be. But this point itâs looking like thatâs the case if we donât hear anything tomorrow.
I donât doubt the sincerity of the person who posted that. But at the same time, they never even hinted that theyâre full in a single email response.
But yeah, they did say theyâd close latest in early July earlier, so itâs not looking too good at this point. Maybe theyâll send the rejection letter today.
can you send the link to the thread pls?
yeah but that was information we got from someone else too so itâs really hard to distinguish between fact and fiction i think the thing with the visas is really interesting though however iâm not an international student so i donât really understand how that would work
i think we might hear something today if not then who knows when bc hopkins is being very difficult and confusing letâs just see what happens good luck guys!
I think this is it:

Comment:
Hi! You just reminded me I promised JHU waitlistees an update when I had any so here goes.
This isnât an official update but myself and a few other JHU â25 people talked to some current SGA (student government) students. Our conversation was on how to ensure every 2025 person is set up in terms of preparation for campus. One of our topics under consideration was the waitlist and one person did the math based on the numbers he had. The math showed that the class of 2025 is sadly full without any waitlist acceptances. I donât know why they have the waitlist open and it sucks and I hate it, but I imagine itâs to do with International visas. I hate to be the bearer of bad news like this and I still really really really hope you get in if you want to go to JHU.
I do suggest you to do your best to move on. But I also know itâs hard, it was hard for me too with my waitlists. Take care dude, I know youâll be happy in the end <3
Yeah that was what it was. That person always commented on every Jhu person trying to be helpful
thank you so much that was nice of them to figure it out and tell us hopefully we get good news still but if we donât i hope you guys have a good time at your other colleges!
Another week goes by and still no news. Surprisingly since a lot of colleges closed yesterday so maybe weâll here something next week. Since scheduling for classes are starting soon. Also the waitlist is what is holding up the transfers. But my only question is if the class is full why still keep it open especially since itâs holding up the transfers. If they knew it was full back in May, the first time we heard this, why still keep it open for up to two months with no indications. Like I want to believe they will take people off, but after reading about certain colleges closed yesterday without taking anyone off idk.
