Johns Hopkins Class of 2025 Waitlist Discussion

I leave for school on Saturday. I really wish they would update us. Although at this point I have no idea if I would be able to go to hopkins even if I was accepted given all the paperwork I’ve already had to do for my other school

At this point I feel they are waiting the very last minute because of internationals.

I’ve been telling myself “today’s the day” every day for the past 3 months :upside_down_face:

has anyone heard anything :weary::weary:

Nope. Nothing.

this is ridiculous

i really can’t believe they dragged it this far and i feel so angry that there is a high probability that they’re gonna say their at full capacity and won’t take any one off the waitlist.

is it possible that they just won’t answer people? like do some universities not let their waitlist students know when they’re at full and the waitlisted students are just supposed to assume that they’re full?

why can’t they just let us know and have us move on with the school of our choice like so many people have started moving to their first choice and like jhu’s own move in date is in a few days so like seriously ■■■

They can’t (and won’t) do this. From the few replies to emails people have shared on here, it’s clear that they certainly know we exist!

Hoping & praying for the same!!

honestly I really want to go but this entire experience has just been off-putting and like such a bad start that I kind of just want them to reject me? I’m like completely moved into my dorm in college and I just want this chapter to end bc it’s so frustrating and it’ll be so much work to have to move out of my dorm to a school where I’m kind of constantly treated as an after thought?

Do you guys reckon JHU could send out transfer option letters to us if they are full by the end of this? I know that Cornell did this to a few people who were on the waiting list, but then again Cornell accepts way more transfers than JHU.

how would that work? like if we complete our lower division requirements at the university we’re in right now then we would have guaranteed admission if we were to apply to transfer to jhu?

I’m not too sure but you have the right idea. Basically you have to do your first year at a college, perhaps maintain a certain gpa, but most importantly you remain in contact with the school (of JHU) you applied for, and you should get guaranteed entry if you apply for transfer. If anyone else has any information please fill us in

I think you’ve pretty much covered it. And with the way JHU had handled this so far, a guaranteed TO might be courtesy in place of outright rejections! But, then again, maybe they will take some us, who knows?

Another thing they may do is offer places in the class of 2026. I know from a friend that Georgetown did this to some people this year after putting them on a third extended waitlist.

Personally, between the two, I’d prefer the guaranteed TO.

Anyone have any news?

Third post in a row but this had to be said: it’s 5 months today from when we were originally placed on the waitlist. 5 months of this - March 19 to August 19.
