Johns Hopkins Fall 2017 Transfers

how are people already logging in? I thought they were supposed to send us our login information this week

Some people are just impatient and do the ‘forgot password’-trick.

I got the email as well. I think the ratio between gotten and not gotten is half and half.

maybe everyone who set up their portal already didn’t get the email? did anyone set up their portal already and still get the email??

@packman012 this. I had manually acquired my password about a month and a half ago. That’s initially what I figured, but wasn’t sure if that was the case. Also, it would not make much sense if them actually emailing you on your decision date means you got accepted. If that was the case then they’d might as well say you were accepted in the email.

@packman012 I used to get that but I no longer do.

This is what I have now, followed by a FA checklist of things I have turned in.
"YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN CREATED.
Thank you for setting up your account for the Johns Hopkins admissions decision site. Please take note of the email and password combination you established as your log-in credentials.

Admissions notifications for transfers will be released in May. You’ll receive an email closer to the decision release date with more information.

In the meantime, you may view your financial aid application status below. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Services at fin_aid@jhu.edu or 410-516-8028 if you have any questions about this information."

I just got the email today at 3:30pm to create the portal. I didn’t make an account through the forget password method. Are people not getting the same email?

@PupperthePupcake I got the same email. JHU normally don’t do rolling for transfer. What’s your intend major?
I am applying ECE as an international student.

I didn’t get the email, but I also think its because I sort of force made one a few weeks back.

I checked today and got the same thing as @VaishS

@uhbygv I am applying public health studies

I did the forget-password trick yesterday (yeah, i’m that impatient), and I didn’t get any emails today about setting up the account. I got the first email so I’m fairly convinced it has something to do with whether you’ve set up your account.

my portal just updated to now say:
"Thank you for setting up your account for the Johns Hopkins admissions decision site. Please take note of the email and password combination you established as your log-in credentials.

and below this it has a checklist. i didnt get an email but it seems like everything is in order with my account, so i dont think any of us who didn’t get the email need worry

I couldn’t find a checklist in my portal. @packman012

@luckybaby did u apply for financial aid? its a financial aid checklist

Lol<~ I didn’t. Thank you very much! @packman012

miniheartattack

Do you guys think I have a chance for transfer admission?
College GPA: 4.0
High School: 3.4 weighted GPA
SAT-Opt Out
I took 10 AP Classes All in total

I am a black male from the hood, who watched his cousin get shot by gang members, and has had to take care of a mom who had a stroke. But I have some very awesome extra curricular activities. I am president of my school’s debate team, and I’ve had to be the coach and president because our school couldn’t afford a coach. I am ranked as the best teenage orator in my city, and one of the top 80 orators in the nation. First black to win the California State championship in speech and debate. I started a tutoring program for black students at my school, because blacks were performing way lower than other ethnic groups. And because of that program, all of the failing black students who participated in the program ended up passing. I interned for a state senator, and when interning for him I hosted a debate tournament for inner-city youth. In addition, I wrote a bill called AB 672 which gives assistance to prisoners who are wrongfully convicted. The bill that I wrote was actually voted by the California State senate and signed by the state governor, and now the bill I wrote is now in effect. I also have won several awards for Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon, and I am a columnist for a local newspaper. I also have stopped a lot of peers in my neighborhood from joining gangs and getting addicted to drugs. My grades are low, but I’ve done amazing things. Do you think that they’ll look past my low high school gpa and test scores and give me a chance?

@amoore001 you are very impressive, i certainly think they will, hopkins stresses that they take a holistic approach to the process
