Johns Hopkins med school requirements

Hi, I have a question. I've read in JHU web that biology introductory level is required and can't be substitute with ap or IB credit. I will take credit for introductory biology but was wondering if I can cover that requirement with an advanced biology course.

Thanks

Yes. The requirement is a year of biology with lab not intro biology.

Don’t forget those Humanities courses. They are pretty strict about those. I believe they need 16 credits of Humanities.

Thank you for your answer! They require 24 credits of humanities.

Hate to bump this old thread, but what exactly counts as a humanity course?

Go to AMCAS course classification guide. I think Humanities would be all those NOT listed as a science (BCMP). For example: Behavorial sciences, English, History, Philosophy/Religion, Foreign Language, Govt, Arts, etc.

The JHU requirement is not strictly about humanities. They want you to take at least 16 hours of humanities, behavioral and social sciences. Languages (Classics, English and foreign), Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Philosophy, Religion and more generally fall under the umbrella of Humanities. However, there may be slightly different categorizations at different universities.
