Please help!!! Is Johns Hopkins that much better that I should go to it over NYU?

What major are you buddy?

Unless you are going to NYU Stern, then you should choose Hopkins.

I am an international studies major…but I love nyu too!!!

I think Hopkins is significantly better than NYU for undergraduate, and the rankings seem to confirm my belief. So go to Johns Hopkins if you want to go to the better school.

I understand that it is hard to decline another college that you love as I went through the same process with UMD.

What do you love about Hopkins? What do you love about NYU?

I love NYU because I have soo many friends there, Ive always lived near nyc and am in love with it, I like nyu’s reputation, and I honestly think my quality of life there would be better.

I like jhu because it will get me into a top law school, right? Its a really presitigious school

Actually prestige of the undergrad school is not a big factor when it comes to law school admissions. What matters is GPA/LSAT. Since you want to go to law school, go where you’ll be happiest and can get the highest GPA. If that place is NYU, then go to NYU.

thanks for all your advice. Unfortunately, im still really undecided. I dont want to go to nyu and regret my whole life that I passed up on an opportunity to go to JHU. At the same time, I love the feeling of being in NYC and studying at NYU. I also feel that if I go to JHU i would have a better chance of landing a great job if no law school accepts me that is worth going to.
