Has anyone not received the email even though they specifically haven’t submitted 2014 Federal Tax Returns?
@dsohn45 good question that will tell us a lot
Didn’t submit tax forms, didn’t receive email requesting them or email telling me I’m missing documents.
But them I’m an international student; don’t know if processing is different.
We could try looking in past threads for Ed jhu
Looked at 2019 and I didn’t see anything
Didn’t submit tax doc directly to JHU but did on CSS. No email request to provide additional documents.
This email was sent earlier today to me, in case anyone wants to know what the emails look like. It’s strange that they emailed me today but say I should send everything by December 4th. I ended up just withdrawing my financial aid application to ease the process.

So did you file the CSS when you submitted the application? CSS has that information, or at least mine did.
I think the extra stuff is to prove what you put down on the Css app
@newstudent2020 Yea I submitted my CSS around the same time I submitted my ED application. I just went through my CSS and all the relevant information is on there, but the actual tax doc isn’t on there, if that’s what you mean. My dad is an accountant at his own firm so I would assume he filled everything out correctly, on the CSS at least. I did not actually even mean to apply for need-based financial aid (very low chance of me receiving anything) and so I was really confused when I saw the email.
Also, the JHU financial aid website says that the 2014 1040 forms are required (http://finaid.johnshopkins.edu/prosp_stud.html) but it doesn’t mention those forms anywhere on the apply website (https://apply.jhu.edu/financial-aid/how-to-apply/). Looks to me like this is all a big mess up by JHU.
I am thinking they are just checking randomly. 4 days left, it is what it is.
urg you guys are freaking me out with this financial aid stuff and I wasn’t even worried about it before.
I was looking at the thread from last year and I didnt check everybody’s but, it seemed as though those who received notices of missing documents got accepted however it seems as though people were not as worried about the tax forms (meaning there were no people i could identify as not having turned in the forms AND not receiving an email notice)
@p3y7on dang…
@p3y7on wait. so are you saying that the people who are getting notified for their tax forms is a good thing?
@dsohn45 I totally read over the email I received similar to yours saying that the forms are due December 4th. Do you think they won’t consider me for financial aid because of this?? I’ve submitted everything except the signed tax returns
you could probably take a screenshot of the original email and tell jhu you got the email after the 4th
@kp1997 hes saying or rather assuming that everyone who did not hand in their tax forms got the email regardless of their decision. However, he is also suggesting a correlation between admissions and the email. Just don’t worry about whether you got the email or not.
@p3y7on Can you post the thread?
